In what would have to be classified as a mild upset, Gabby Douglas (USA) will not get a chance to defend her all-around gold medal. Despite the United States having the top three all-around scores in the qualifying stage, each country is only allowed a maximum of two competitors for the all-around, and Douglas finished third, behind teammates Simone Biles and Aly Raisman.

Douglas will still compete with the rest of the heavily-favored United States team, as they attempt to defend their team gold, as well as individually on the uneven bars, along with event specialist Madison Kocian.

WOW! That is shocking. And the fact that they were upset in straight sets makes it even worse!

Medal Alert: Lilly King (USA) sets a new Olympic record with 1:04:93, en route to a gold medal in the women's 100m breaststroke. Yulia Efimova (RUS) won silver, and Katie Meili (USA) gets bronze.

Apparently there was some smack talked between King and Efimova, prior to the final. Nice of King to represent by backing it up, then.

Minor controversy in women's judo -78kg quarterfinals, as referee Everardo Garcia (MEX) declared Anamari Velensek (SLO) the victor over Yalennis Castillo (CUB) by ippon, due to armbar, even though Castillo never tapped out.

Has the #MontrealScrewjob reached the Olympics? And what could that mean for my #Bae Kayla Harrison?
