Successful Scenario
There were BYC players involved in this trade, so this trade is subject to the BYC provisions of the CBA. Due to Sacramento, Chicago, Toronto and Denver being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Sacramento, Chicago, Toronto and Denver had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out unless trade exceptions were used for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
We end up with a full 15 man roster but it would be worth it for that strong 8 man rotation of Bibby, Martin, Artest, Chandler, and Miller with Cisco, Nene, and James coming off the bench.
The Bulls do this because they get a big name center in Camby to replace Chandler while getting an offensive punch off the bench in Lenard. They will have to give up a lot of their PFs because Chandlers friggin BYC is so hard to get by but who knows, maybe they'll like Camby enough to pull the trigger. Their lineup ends up looking something like this..
PG- Hinrich/Duhon/Pargo
OG- Gordon/Lenard
SF- Deng/Nocioni/Piatowski
PF- Songaila/Harrington
C- Camby
Denver does this because maybe they think they were better off without Camby because since hes returned they've lost alot of their games. In the trade they get their shooter OG in Peterson and also get 3 good bigs in SAR, Skinner, and Sweetney. Their lineup will look something like this
PG- A. Miller/Boykins
OG- Peterson/Buckner/Johnson/Hodge
SF- Anthony/Najera/Kleiza
PF- Kmart/SAR/Sweetney
C- Elson/Skinner
Raptors do this deal to get a younger PG in Watson that can develop with Bosh and Villanueva. They also get Bonzi who they could either put him in the lineup or just to get even more salary space to resign Bosh and for Free Agents. They lose James but Watson looks very promising and Bonzi could provide a decent spark on defense for a team that desperatley needs one.
PG- Watson/Calderon/A.Williams
OG- Bonzi
SF- Villanueva/Graham
PF- Bosh/Bonner/Davis
C- Sow/Araujo/Woods
