I say we get rid of Bibby for Cleeves. At least he will feel comfortable with the Kings
Bricklayer said:If the Pistons are waiting around for that kind of offer for Darko career average 2ppg Milciic, they are going to wait right through the end of his rookie contract. They blew their chance at that kind of deal a year or two ago. Now Darko is entering Skita like territory. Somebody may take a risk with him, but nobody is busting up major chunks of the team to get him. Let alone throwing in unprotected lottery pciks, which would be completely ridiculous.
AleksandarN said:I really see no reason for Detroit to trade Darko then. Why trade him then if you look at their team right now they are pretty set. They could wait for Darko to see if he develop. Alot of teams inquire I am sure about Darko but Dumars will not trade him for nothing. I am thinking if they trade him it will be on their terms and I would think they would want at least a lottery pick out of it otherwise I see no advantage trading him considering if why want a quality back up for their team they alway use the MLE next year to get one. There is no way we get Dako for our scrubs that is why I propose the trade I did. Maybe swap picks instead of just giving them ours that way we still get a pick albeit a very low one.
Bricklayer said:Darko = 3rd year of a 4 year deal. Not much time to see if he develops anymore.

AleksandarN said:Yeah but I do not see any incentives for Detriot to make a deal without it invoilving a lottery pick of some osrt. BTW if we could trade Bonzi for Nene I would be all for it. Kevin could step in for Bonzi at SG. This would trade would be ideal for both teams. The Nuggets get thier SG and we get our big.
Bricklayer said:Um, the incentive would be to get something rather than the big nothing they have now. And a nothing with plummeting value too. They might just ride him right into the ground, which does neither he nor the Pistons any good. But its a waste of a resource to stand on some sort of principal as your lottery bust slowly slides into obscurity.
AleksandarN said:Hey I am just looking at what it would take to get Darko in Sac uniform. I do not see them trading Darko for anything less then a rental of Bonzi's caliber and a pick. They already rejected a Hawks deal that included Harrington. I am just seeing what it would take for Detroit to bite. Also trading Bonzi is not that bad considering the odds of him resigning with us is very slim plus(ATM) trading our pick might not that bad of a deal considering that a talented big like Darko will not be around when we get to pick(early teens maybe as high as 8). Looking at it more closely it is not so bad. Maybe a little pricey but the dividends and risks I think outweigh the price that is to be paid. That said if we could get Nene for Bonzi without the pick we take it and run and do not look back.

AND any trade that keeps Hart as the backup point guard pretty much reeks of foul-smelling excrement.

While a Corliss/Hart for Darko/change trade works straight up, Joe Dumars is probably not dumb enough to consider Hart an improvement over anyone at backup PG. With some reports out of Charlotte that Brevin Knight is considered expendible now that Felton is coming along, here's a three-team idea:

Why Sacramento makes the deal: Giving up Garcia would be a steep price to pay, but the Kings get promising big man Darko, along with Delfino, who is actually a very similar player to Garcia -- active defensively, good passer, on-again-off-again shooting, and poor decision making.
Why Detroit makes the deal: They give up a bunch of players who aren't playing for an impact defender/distributor in Knight and veteran punch off the bench with Corliss, who can help out at the 3/4 positions. Corliss has actully been very good defensively this season, and with some time he will probably regain his scoring punch.
Why Charlotte makes the deal: Charlotte gives up their veteran point guard for promising spare parts. Hart played very well in Charlotte last year (go figure), Garcia is a promising 2/3, Hunter is an expiring deal and Dale Davis is a veteran leader with a contract expiring next season.
Not sure anyone is really eager to make Detroit even better, but neither Sacramento or Charlotte are contending next season, better to shoot for 2008.
"As the Detroit Pistons rush to dispense with the regular season and return to the finals for the third consecutive season, one of their players, Darko Milicic, has been virtually invisible. Milicic, the No. 2 pick in the 2003 draft, was chosen ahead of players like Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade. He entered the weekend averaging 1.6 points and 1.2 rebounds in 5.8 minutes and has not been able to break into the Pistons' well-oiled rotation."
"Detroit holds the option for his fourth season, and Joe Dumars, the team president, has become more active in trade discussions. But it is hard to ascertain Milicic's value because he rarely plays. With the team 39-6 entering last night's game at Indiana, the Pistons are in no hurry to make a deal. They made their blockbuster deadline trade for Rasheed Wallace two years ago; other than gaining depth, they need little but salary relief or draft picks."
allrightythen said:I know its kinda random but should the Kings trade Bonzi Wells? I don't how easy/difficult it will be to resign him in the offseason and Martin does seem to be coming into his own and giving us something on a fairly cosistent basis. I really like what Bonzi has done for the team this year, I like his heart, his rebounding, his game in general. I would rather not see him walk for nothing if we could avoid it though. Should we trade him?
