Hawks suddenly having to trade away some of their good young players because they overspent in free agency last season is not a good look. Also, the Kings should totally get in on this somehow.
Poor Bogi not only missed out on a ring but he's about to be the scapegoat for bleeding young talent.

This is what bothers me about "kids being on the same timeline." Contracts all come up at once, especially on rookie scales. OKC will be in the same boat - assuming you draft well, you'll have three great players but can only keep two.

Roster management isn't as black and white as some would like to believe.

It's ok if you have a championship team to max them all out I guess sort of happened to the Warriors. I think it was worth it for their 4 year run even if they suck for the next 5 years which I expect a small rebound from them.

But they also have to like each other, see OKC early 2010s.

And Dallas in the early 90s. Dallas probably would have had a championship were it not for Toni Braxton.

I mean kids on the same timeline is fine, but probably don't trade for Clint Capela (18 mil), Sign Bogi (18 mil) and sign Gallo (20 mil) all within the timeframe you're going to have to pay said kids.

I have no idea what the Pelicans are trying to do if trading Ingram is part of their plan but I'm intrigued that we're mentioned as a possibility. He wouldn't be a big boost to our defense but he's good enough and he represents a legit option for a young go-to scorer in the half court which is a significant piece worth talking about. Trading Buddy back to New Orleans to help space the floor for Zion makes a lot of sense for them but I don't know what else they would want from us.

Was just about to post that. Don't think we have the assets to make it happen, but it would be almost perfect.

Buddy/Bagley/9 for Ingram. They don't do that though.
The Knicks probably would trade RJ or Quickley but that’s an odd team structure for the Knicks, Miami could maybe do Herro and a sign and trade for Duncan I suppose but that’s questionable. Houston could trade the 2 and 24 for BI and the 10 but how does that help the Pels win now? Sixers Maxey, Thybulle and some picks but stll questionable how that helps immediately.

how about a three way trade:

kings trade Buddy + Barnes +Bagley + 9 +39

Pels trade BI + filler

Raps trade Siakam + filler

Kings get BI + filler
Pels get Siakam Buddy +39
Toronto gets Barnes, Bagley, 9

The Pels seem to be recalibrating by really really building around Zion now. It’s like Griffin got cold feet on whatever rebuild he originally decided on when he traded AD and has decided to take on a completely different rebuild by having a fire sale on anyone who isn’t Zion (including trading down to dump Bledsoe and shopping their all-star 23-year-old 3/4 wing for some reason).

seems like he’s trying to do a Process style dump while trying not to tick Zion off so much that he demands a trade.

They gave up an additional first round pick and moved down to undo two of Griffin's acquisitions from last season. I guess they really wanted to re-sign Lonzo.

Also Adams is going to be great in Memphis.

This must be a deal that will go down after August 1, because the money does not even REMOTELY work in the current year. For next year, the Grizz have some salary cap space to play with, and Adams' contract takes a big dip.
Yeah, I was trying to make it work in the ESPN trade machine and it kept rejecting it.
