Nice comments from INDY paper this morning

Kings rookie point guard Tyreke Evans, an early-season favorite for Rookie of the Year, had his way against the Pacers' guards.
Evens scored 26 points, including his teams first 10 points, on 7-of-14 shooting.
Forward Jason Thompson and center Spencer Hawes scored 22 and 21 points, respectively, for the Kings.
"They have a nice group of young players," Pacers swingman Mike Dunleavy said. "It seems like (general manager) Geoff Petrie always does a good job drafting players and finding talent."

Petrie is a horrible gm, he drafts 50/50 and he makes horrible trades and free agent signings.....:p

And thats why Petrie has been voted by the league as Exec of the Year TWICE??

His drafting has been better than we could have expected considering what has come from KMart, Hawes, JT and now Evans/Casspi/Brockman. Their draft this year is the best draft of any team in the NBA as evidenced by Omri now being rated the 6th best rookie so far this year.

Note to self: Stop laughing about regular joes opining about one of the most complex and difficult jobs in all of sports.

Okay, slow down: the next "regular joe" that gets hired to be an NBA GM will be the very first one. Let's not pretend that's it's impossible for somebody who's not currently in the job to do the job. Nobody knows, because "regular joes" don't get hired for those jobs. Those are utterly vetted positions, and you have to know a guy who knows a guy before you can even be considered.

As I've said before, there are journalists, lawyers and more than a few doctors that read and post on this message board: you can't possibly expect me to believe that there's nobody on this board that's smart enough to do that job. It's one thing to say Mr. S£im Citrus isn't smart enough to do that job, I'll take that... But nobody? Seriously?

Seriously! I could EASILY succeed as the kings GM :D

In that same vein, an Indy blogger had some nice things (and fair criticism) to say about our Kings (he wrote about the Kings, and a Kings fan wrote about Indy).

While not so nice, I found this bit funny as hell:
That’s just about everything that’s worth discussing from last night’s victory, aside from noting Beno’s consistent and head-scratching-to-me solid play this season, and maybe also taking a quick second to mention that, while I was impressed with Spencer Hawes long-range shooting, that’s really not what anyone on the Sacramento coaching staff should be encouraging him to do. I guess I shouldn’t really expect much else from a 7′1″ dude named “Spencer” though. That’s really his parents fault more than anything. I guarantee you that “Rick Hawes” gets 14 boards in that 98-possession game last night while never leaving the paint.

Great read. Whats funny is how a lot of the things myself and others have been trying to get others on board with were iterated by someone who is not a Kings fan. And I get called a homer.....

The obvious choice is Aries. :D, But, I will of course accept the position if begged...

Wouldn't that be awesome? Our team would definitely win a ring the first year that I was in charge.

50% is better than 0/50. I do hate on Petrie. But, only because he doesn't have a clue when it comes to evaluating players from the US. But, in every other category, Petrie excels. I said it before, i hate the Beno and Garcia extensions, but I have been thinking about it and who better than Beno, the only slovenian in the NBA, to receive a nice contract. And if you look at Garcia's draft class, he makes exactly the right amount of money considering the top5 in his class are max-level, and every player picked in front of him are either making more or out of the league or barely hanging in the NBA. When taking a long look at the extensions, there isn't one that we can stretch into a rope to hang petrie. This draft saved him from the fire, and Westphal. The clippers have been rebuilding for almost 2 decades, the kings have taken 6 years, i would take Petrie over every GM in the L.
