NFL 2023-2024 Thread

Crazy how insanely irritated I can be at the Niners defense and then look up at the end of the game and see that the opposition has only scored 16 points. That's how good they've been for the last 6 years or so.

Joshua Dobbs really impressed me yesterday. He can move the chains better than I was expecting.

CMC is just insane. I hate the fact that I want to see him take home the MVP crown while simultaneously wanting him to get his touches cut in half in order to preserve him for the playoffs.

Aiyuk is playing like a legit #1 despite not having the normal physical attributes of one.

Would like to see them get Kittle more involved. He deserves more touches.

Deebo is a better "offensive weapon" but I think Aiyuk has surpassed him as a pure WR. Just such an insane route runner, almost has shades of Davante Adams where he's just always open.

Not sure if it'll come down to a choice between Aiyuk and Deebo, but if we had to make a call, I think it has to be Aiyuk. He's developing a special connection with Purdy.

Watching last night's game was painful.

Did they have to talk about and show Taylor Swift so many freaking times? Like, they couldn't just show her once at the beginning of the game, acknowledge her attendance, and show her throughout whenever Kelce made a huge play or something like that? Did they HAVE to make her attendance seem WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY bigger than what it actually was?

You can kick a field goal, score a safety, a TD
But we are never ever ever ever gonna show the leather

I would have to go with Aiyuk as well because his route running is miles ahead of Deebo's. I'm no route running expert but Deebo seems very average in that department and it's probably why he's only had one standout pass receiving year. With that said, no one is better at turning a 6 yard pass into pay dirt than Deebo is. The dude can turn short yardage plays into huge explosive plays like no one I've ever seen before. The problem is that a good route runner might be more valuable than that. The good thing is that right now we have both guys and that's a great balance to have. Throw in Kittle and you have a mixture of the two with elite blocking.

Purdy is definitely looking for him.....its a safety net thing.

Internet weirdos were swearing up and down that Daniel Jones would look better in the Niners offense than Brock Purdy does after the game last week and, not to be rude about it but, they're dead wrong lol

The argument of "OMG IT'S SHANNY THAT MAKES THE QB, ANYONE COULD SUCCESS LULZ" really falls on it's head when we've had like what... like 7 QB's play and only 2 have looked good?

With the kind of money the 49ers are going to need to splash out to keep both Aiyuk and Purdy longterm, we're probably going to see a Deebo trade in the next couple years. McCaffery and Aiyuk have made him all but irrelevant in this offense now that we have a quarterback who doesn't need to rely on screen passes and hand-offs to carry the load. I'd love to see all of these guys stay but that's probably not practical. One thing's for sure... it'll be a lot easier saying goodbye to Deebo if the 49ers break through and win a championship or two first.
