NFL 2020-21 Season

Feels like Shanny has to go with Beathard in the second half purely on principle alone at this point. The receivers have been getting open all day only for Mullens to either throw some epically bad balls and/or lose all confidence in his arm strength and refuse to throw the ball before the Washington d-line gets to him.

Option 3; on the rare decent pass, Hands Bourne drops his 7th ball of the night.

There isnt any scenario where this has been even a passable game for Mullens, but his receivers have been equally inept. Just an all-out tank job.

I think at this point we can definitely say that Nick Mullens is not better than Jimmy G like dudes were claiming after the Jets game.

But he isn’t THAT much better. Statue-esque JimmyG would also be eaten alive by this defense while overthrowing guys and having his good balls clang off Bourne’s hands.

100% certainly not good enough to justify a 27 million dollar price tag.

It will be hard to lose to Dallas, but 5-11 is the important number here. Top pick. New Qb. New hope.

I rail on Lamar Jackson’s actual QB skills quite a bit, but that was freakin’ awesome.

Won't forget Jackson's rookie year the Chargers playoff game, the Chargers neutralized his play, putting in extra DBs......the main way to contain speed is with speed. As good as Jackson is running, its always more efficient to pass the ball.

On the draft

Even going 5-11, the 49ers will probably still land around 8-11. It's tempting to take a QB first, but there could be a consensus top player at a different position. They could use their 2nd round pick on a QB. A top cornerback, safety, or O-Line would be good too. Garoppolo is not an elite level QB, and is overpaid. He had his chance last year in the Superbowl and failed - missed the big throw. He's certainly better than Mullins though, who isn't even backup quality.

Jordan Reed after giving evil eyes to Mullens for mistakes each of the last few weeks drops a pass on his hands.
