Never thought this would happen..

The Sacramento Monarchs changed the status of DeMya Walker and Miao Li jie to Active and the status of Erin Buescher and Kristin Haynie to Injured.

FeiFei and Miao actually both active at the same time?? Should be interesting if they get some playing time together on the floor.

Does anyone know about Kristin? Didn't think she'd be put on IR unless she actually was hurt. I guess Kara will get back up PG and some SG minutes and Miao will get some SG minutes now?

I'm flabbergasted. Haynie must be really injured to be put on the list. Also, Erin is such an energizer.

Man, they'll be out tonight, vs. LA and SA. Aaiiyyee!

Erin and Kristin? I don't know what to say. I hope there is a reason for this, because both players have been so valuable for their energy and heart.

I Hope this is a legit injury.

Two of your huge enegry players on the Bench.
This is a big mistake, having them both on IR.

DeMya is still not 100% can't be light in the paint.

But hell they should at least be playing.

Koz and Krista said during the broadcast that Kristin was feeling under the weather and was at home recuperating. If she's got the same bug I had last week, I feel for her. No wonder she didn't fly. Get well soon, Kristin!!

That is fine and understandable for 1 game, but going on the IL means missing a minimum of 3 games. How can we do without their energy for 3 games?

I dont have a problem with the moves. I'd have to assume that Haynie is legitimately unavailable - if she didn't fly with the team to Phx and thusly probably didn't fly with the team straight to LA today, she'd miss two games already - then, if you consider that she may not practice before they fly back from LA to get ready for SA - and remembering the Whiz mantra "if you don't practice you don't play" she'd probably have missed 3 games anyway so the fact that she was IR'ed is immaterial as far as I see it. Presuming she is healthy enough, she should be activated by the time they prep for Seattle. I reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly don't think he wants Lawson, Miao or Newton running backup point down the stretch as they tune up for the playoffs...do you?

If I had to sit somebody to activate Walker, I'd probably have chosen Buescher (but it would have been a close call between her, OSR and Fei Fei). Without Haynie on the bench, your only choice if you wanted outside shooters were Fei Fei and Miao. Since he wants 4 guards to play his defense, Miao's return seemed to me to be a given. OSR is the more physical of the two forwards, so I can see giving her the nod with Phx and SA on the docket. She also had quietly given the team some solid minutes since she was activated when Walker was IR'ed. With the Walker Brunson transition Whiz was going to have to carefully orchestrate between now and the opening of the playoffs - the minutes that backup spot was going to get was limited so I'm not sure we lost that much in the short term. If we did, its something we'da have to have dealt with anyway bringing Walker back.

In retrospect on this one, I have a hunch both Miao and FeiFei will be on the IR for the playoffs. This is a good chance for both of them to prove themselves before playoff rosters must be set.

Since Haynie came down with some bug, it gives both of them the opportunity to show what they can do. But from what I've seen this season, I think the roster will be stronger without them for the playoffs. Neither one seems to be able to get a shot off quickly enough for the WNBA.

My $.02.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I'm sure Whiz was looking down the road with this recent IR move.
