If the explanation from the NBA includes Giddey touching the net, the rule states that if a player from each team touches the rim, net or ball, that no points can be scored, and there is to be a jump ball at mid court

Magic say center Wendell Carter Jr. will undergo surgery to repair a fractured third metacarpal in his left hand. Following surgery, Carter Jr. will be re-evaluated in approximately three weeks.
