Do you think he should? That sounds a little too much like overreach, to me.

The answer here depends on how seriously this "loophole" is seen as a problem. For instance, I would guess that right now the Lakers would not be in favor of such a change, but the Hornets might.

Me personally, I'd give it serious consideration. Not a hard "yes", but closing that loophole probably is a net positive in my view. But I'd listen to teams, if most of them were against it I'd probably back down.

Do we have reason to believe that he hasn't? Any reason to believe that he hasn't already taken the lay of the land, and hasn't taken further action because he knows that the BOG would not support it?

The question is was the failed physical in good faith or they changed their minds. If the latter then the Hornets should get compensation say a 2nd round pick.

watching this Wolves Thunder matchup and the way Shai is officiated is unbearable, push offs and Harden-like foul hunting

What about just allowing deadline trades (or really all trades) to have "and future considerations". I don't know if those have been erased from other leagues but I do seem to remember that sometimes trades in baseball and other sports would include future assets if a player re-signed or if the player played x% of games.

Imagine if we had been able to trade Fox to another team but they could send/not send certain picks only if he re-signed?

On these deadline deals they could add or remove a pick or cash considerations if the physical failed and it went third party review/mediation. At least the player most likely doesn't change teams only to be changed back. That must be awful. Really the main loser in all of this was Mark Williams. Especially since Charlotte replaced him with Nurk. Would they have done that with Williams on the roster?

Maybe the situation is as simple as making the deadline one date for player movement with a window to sort out non-player compensation after the passing of physicals.

I like this kind of creative thinking. It seems to work for baseball, definitely could see giving it a try here. Like, it would be nice to snag an extra pick if Fox resigned in SA, and they'd probably be willing to go higher in that event.

LOL there are only like 14 assists here at best.

You only have to watch the first one. Literally three dribbles and a step-back. Comical. I didn't watch further, did they give Jokic any assists on missed shots? Any assists where he threw the ball out of bounds? Any assists while he was sitting on the bench? Just checking, because they seem as likely.

They should let Joker play under FIBA rules: where, if the shooter is fouled on a field goal attempt, the person who made the last pass gets an assist if they make at least one free throw.

It wasn't even the home scorekeeper.

So perhaps that's why Haliburton numbers are that good (the match above was in Indiana).

There was a controversy 2 years ago with JJJ and his "stocks" when playing at Memphis, even Chris Paul had made a statement that part of the reason that it's impossible for the assists records that Stockton holds to be broken (of all time) are the Utah scorekeepers.
