Evenstar...please do me a favor and just buy the original broadway cast recording. The movie was amazing visually, but the quality of voices in the original broadway cast recording is far superior. Trust me.

i want to buy both versions. i really liked the music in this version, but i've heard clips of the broadway version with sarah brightman, and i REALLY want to get that one also. i LOVE sarah brightman, she is just amazing.

I went to see Elektra today (not my choice) and was completely bored to tears. However, I was fortunate enough to see a preview for Mr. and Mrs. Smith. That made me all giggly.

I'm also planning on making a pilgrimage to the "far away theatre" this week to see The House of Flying Daggers.

Can you tell I am a big movie fan? :D

Everyone who posts on this thread is a big movie fan, so yer in good company.

Just wanted to tell everyone i went to best buy the other day and went crazy in the movie section for about an hour. I found some lame old movies that i hadn't seen in forever and bought them, some not so lame too.

So i saw this Tom Hanks 3-pack for 20 bucks that had Big, Cast Away, and Bachelor Party so I had to get that. I love Tom Hanks, and i love all of those movies.

I bought Clifford with Martin Short, if you haven't seen this movie, it's pretty funny...i used to love it when i was younger.

I also bought Clue the Movie, with Tim Curry...i really like tim curry, ever since i saw rocky horror i have just thought that he was great. Clue is a very funny movie.

Four Rooms with Tim Roth, i really thought this movie was cool because they use four different directors for four different scenes, pretty neat, the last scene directed by quentin tarantino is the best, tim roth is also very funny as the bell-boy.

And lastly, I bought One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Okay, seriously if you have never seen this movie, go out and rent it tonight. Excellent, excellent film, Jack Nicholson is spectacular in it, and i'm pretty sure that is why he one an oscar for it. It is a must see for anyone who has never watched it.

That's all i bought for this week.

oh gawd i HATED that movie. the acting was awesome, no doubt about that, it's just they messed up the book which was really good. i tried to get into the movie, but i just couldn't. but jack nicholsen was amazing. i have no complaints about that.

I just rented a movie called Rabbit Proof Fence...it's a true story about three aboriginal girls in Australia taken from their mom by the government who escape and try to walk home....over 1000 miles. A great movie.

Napoleon Dynamite is quite possibly the stupidest movie I have ever seen in my entire life. When I was sitting in the movie watching it I could feel my IQ going down the drain.

That being said its funny as hell to talk about after you have seen it.

Just saw it the other day.

"SWEEEEEEEEEET !"
"OK....BYE"

Stupidest movie ever...but at the same time, pretty funny.

I absolutely adore Tim Roth, but can only sit through the second half of this film. The first two "rooms" are pretty painful, Tarantino's is funny (albeit overindulgent), but it's Robert Rodriguez's contribution that floors me every time.

The very best thing about Four Rooms, however, is the soundtrack. Great loungy selections from Esquivel and Combustible Edison.

Watched the movie the forgotten on dvd...not bad...a little "x-filesy", but not bad. I like nerd movies so don't take it out on me if you saw it and didn't like it...he he.

Ok this weeked i watched King arthur and Open Water. Both were good.

King Arthur...i really liked this movie because i am really into movies in the medievil time frame...and i was always a big fan of king arthur and lancelot. Very cool to learn that it could have been a true story of sorts. I honestly watched the movie because alot of people on here posted that it was good. So thanks a lot guys for the info, see i knew this thread would help people out.

Okay, open water...i really wanted to see this in the theatre but never got around to it, i am deathly afraid of sharks, well the ocean in general, but i am so intrigued by it as well, go figure. Anyways, the movie began like a bad college indy film, almost like blair witch, filmed with a home video camera. But man, once they got left in the ocean....ALONE! The movie took a much needed turn for the better. Although i would have been in much more of a panic in the situation, they kept their cool, but man, never will i go scuba diving after seeing this film. Crazy, crazy stuff. So if you do watch this movie, keep in mind that the beginning is horrible...but when they get into the water you pretty much forget about the acting and story, and focus on how scary it would really be to be out there alone.

I rented cellular and forgotten this weekend, I liked them both. We saw open water at the theater...I wanted my money back!

we rented princess diaries 2, sky captain, resident evil(which I won't watch) and forgotten. We actually watched pd2--cute, some teary moments for both my dad and I, and sky captain-good no brain entertainment. I'll let you know about forgotten probably after tonight.

I watched American History X and Shaun of the Dead this weekend. Both are pretty good, American History X stars Ed Norton as a vicious skinhead who undergoes a transformation after he's sent to jail for killing two gangbangers. It's not perfect, but it makes you think and Ed Norton is terrific in it.

Shaun of the dead is a zombie horror-comedy. I can't describe it except to say that if you like British Humor and zombie movies, check it out :)

ok watched boogyman on sat. Pretty much one of the stupidest movies I have ever seen. 3/4 of the movie is a guy in his late 20's standing in front of closet doors because he is afraid of the "boogyman". Ya know i keep going to see all the lame so-called horror movies that come out...white noise, the grudge, boogyman...and they all just...SUCK! I think that i'm going to have to stop wasting my money going to those damn things.

Isn't that the truth! I took the kids to it saturday night too....it was the stupidest...I haven't been scared since signs.

I agree. Watching all the extras pretending to be zombies is a hoot!

Most of you know I don't have access to a theater, so I can't see the big films until they're released to VHS/DVD.

Well, I finally saw Troy and I have to admit to being very pleasantly surprised. I think they did an excellent job of presenting the story of Helen of Troy, Achilles and the Trojan Horse. I was enthralled and I'm adding it to my personal collection, which doesn't happen very often.

As I've told all of you before, there are three things in life that i love...the kings...my gf, and MOVIES!

So, i recently joined the columbiahouse dvd club. I got 7 movies for $20...wanna hear what ones.......ok....he he. (i was like a kid in a candy store, ummmm or movie...store...i guess....)

Ok here we go, i got Matrix Revolutions because i have the other two and although i didn't like the last two as much as the first i thought it only right to get the whole trilogy.

The Exorcist, this is one of those classic movies that you just have to buy, watched it again yesterday and it is still one of the greatest scary movies of all time.

Pink Floyd's the WALL, if you haven't seen this i really don't recommend it, i just absolutely love the album as well as pink floyd, and you don't find the limited edition dvd everyday.

Let's see, oh, A Beautiful Mind, man this movie is so good, i don't know what it is about Richie Cunningham but his mvoies are always so good. Russel Crowe does a great job of playing a nut-job genius.

Um, Saving Private Ryan, i think i'm determined to buy every Tom Hanks film, I love that guy. Watch this movie if you haven't seen it.

Caddyshack, classic, classic classic, comedy. Dangerfield gets all my respect in this movie, and this was also just one of those must owns.

Lastly, the final movie i got was the Usual Suspects, man this is a cool movie. Totally unexpected the first time you watch it, and if you have watched it before still kinda cool to notice all the hints as to who it is the second time thru.

Anyways, just thought i would tell everyone what was on my list this week.
later yall.

If you enjoyed Memento, Jacob's Ladder, Mulholland Drive, or Fight Club, I highly recommend

'THE MACHINIST'.

It makes clear (and intentional) references to all of those movies and even though the theme is almost cliche by now, the movie is still very good. Christian Bale is amazing (and scary looking) in this movie. It's only shown in select theatres, so good luck.
Just one more comment about the movie: It's very dark!
