I'll watch ALEXANDER;) Colin is soooo cute ;)
I hate to tell you that Alexander is one of the most boring movies i've ever seen. unless yr into 3 hours straight of narration and overly dramatic war scenes, you will loathe this movie. The only good thing about it is the good looking people casted in it, but once the narrator's monitone voice rocks you to sleep you'll quickly forget the "sooooo cute" colin.

Did you guys ever watch Labyrinth with David Bowie...one of my all time fav movies...i think goonies and ferris bueller are tied for 1st tho.
I own. good movie. I recently watched Stranded(an old hallmark movie)--pretty good. Runaway Jury- I liked it. and Harry Potter 3 (AGAIN)--still like it..;)

Oliver Stone made on of my very favorite movies ever (Natural Born Killers), but I find most of his other films to be damn near unwatchable.

Unfortunately, I don't think that Miss Jolie will even get me to see this one in theatre, no matter how gorgeous she is in the film (insert wolf whistle here). Rosario Dawson is also quite tempting, and Collin Ferrell and Jared Leto make quite the handsome couple, but three hours is a long time to sit just for the drool factor.

I am, however, looking forward to Closer and Ocean's Twelve. I'd hoped to see Closer last week, but as usual, limited release means no Stockton showings for a little while. Same reason I had to miss out on I Heart Huckabees.

I'm looking forward to seeing "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" coming out Christmas. I'm a big Wes Anderson fan and I was kind of disappointed with "The Royal Tenebaums." "Bottlerocket" is one of my all-time favorites. "Rushmore" was great too.

I liked "Meet the Parents" but I have yet to see a preview for "Meet the Fockers" that looks funny. Actually, looks really hacky...

I also want to see the life aquatic because i loved rushmore, and royal tennenbaums is such a funny movie!!! I think gene hackman was great in that.

I saw Blade Trinity last night, I like blade movies, and I liked this one as well but i was also a big comic book fan growing up so all those superhero movies they put out always appeal to me, even the bad ones.

but back to Blade 3, pretty cool, action from start to finish, acting wasn't great, but cool special effects and fight sequences, and oh yeah almost forgot...

Jessica Beal is the hottest chick on the face of this planet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also ryan reynolds(van wilder...hilarious movie) was pretty funny in the movie.

So if yer looking to just watch a cool guy movie, go for it....p.s. not a date movie.

I watched Cold Mountain...didn't impress me...too long, and I watched Jersey Girl...ughhhhh.....

Jersey Girl was very disappointing because i really like Kevin Smith, I mean mallrats, clerks...those are classics, but this was by far the worst Smith movie. The thing that was very different about this movie was that he really tried to make a FILM, not just a hilariously funny movie like he usually does, this one actually tried to have some substance to it. The biggest mistake in my opinion was putting Ben Affleck in the lead (cannot act for.....beans?) and putting J-lo in the same movie as Affleck, even if it was for only like 15 mins. Just brought flashbacks of Gigli...really really horrible. Anyways, those were the movies MY GIRLFRIEND rented... I rented The Terminal, which wasnt that bad at all, I just can't get enough of tom hanks.

I am really just waiting until tom when i can go and buy my extended version of Return of the King...anybody else excited about it???

If were talking about foriegn films, I just watched City of God (Brazilian film) and highly recommend it.

One of the best screenplays I've seen. Too bad it was in Portugese. In the extras, the documentary about the Favellas was pretty shocking, as well.

Okay, I have a question... I really liked Blade 1, and Blade 2. Does this film live up to the first two? Remember, I'm female so Jessica Beals' "hotness" isn't a factor. I want to know if it actually tells more of the story or if it's just action scene and fight sequences linked together to get people to put their butts in the seat for a third time.

YES! I love old films! I'm sure someone will make the obvious comment that they weren't old when I first saw them, but whatever... ;)

I am especially addicted to the bad sci-fi movies of the 50s, where nearly anything that could walk, crawl, slither or fly was somehow subjected to massive quantities of radiation and scuttled off to eat massive quantities of screaming humans!

It just doesn't get much better than that!!!

:D

EXCELLENT! You never cease to amaze me, VF!

As campy as some of those old flicks are, I can think of no other films they bury themselves in a persons head they way they did. I mean, honestly, can you look at a large flock of birds to this day without thinking of the obvious classic "The Birds?" Can you pay respect in your local cemetery on misty morning and spot a man walking in the distance without thinking of "Night of the Living Dead?" Some may call that morbid, but I tell ya'... it's entertainment that just keeps on givin! :D

I hear you. And, when you're driving with your friend in your classic Studebaker, how can you NOT envision the hand of an alien creeping over the back seat and grabbing his shoulder? (Invasion of the Star Creatures - first version, the one where the zippers on the backs of the alien costumes can actually be seen)

;)

if you don't mind sick-gross-killer movies, RED DRAGON (prequel to silence of the lamb) is pretty good.
it's gross though, but probably one of my all time favorites

No one is immune to a few bad movies.

Exhibit A: Ricochet

Exhibit B: Virtuosity

I rest my case.
I saw Ricochet. It wasn't a terrible movie. It was mindless watching. But Denzel was excellent.

My Top 5 Denzel Washington Movies (not in order)
Remember The Titans
Malcolm X
Mo Betta Blues
The Hurricane
Out of Time

Honorable Mention
John Q
Devil in a Blue Dress
Glory
Training Day

Only He Got Game, I did not like.

OOooooo… you know the good ones! But have you seen "IT! Terror from beyond space" and/or "Revenge of the Creature"? You know how hard it's getting to find these today? If they don't serve as Icons like Creature from the Black Lagoon... people just keep 'em on hand.

Yes...and yes!

I'm building a collection of Godzilla films on DVD. Those Japanese flicks with the abysmal dubbing tracks are truly beyond compare!

My brother lives in Davis. When he had his new house built, he had one wall built specifically for HIS collection of 1950's sci-fi flicks. Luckily for me, he's in the process of transferring the video tapes to DVD. When he's done, I get the tapes.

:D

I got an advanced copy of the horror film Haute (High) Tension which will be released here in the states next June. The most intense, horrific and best horror film of the last 10 years. It will be released in it's original uncut NC-17 version but dubbed in English. The film is from France and just upped the anti as far as horror films are concerned. This film will make your jaw drop.

Ummm....I personally liked it, if you like blade 1 and 2, then you will most likely enjoy this movie, at least that is the way i feel, it actually prolly has more action then either of the other two, but just to be safe i might go and see it as a matinee...i don't want to be the reason why someone would waste freakin $9 for a damn movie( god theatre prices are crazy). Honestly, though now that you said that in yer post, it didn't have much story to add, except a little bit of the origins of vampires and dracula, not much about blade though. If you don't think Jessica Beal is hot, then you might think Ryan Reynolds is hot VF...he made me laugh, pretty funny in it.

Hope i helped...

Well...the last LOTR extended came out yesterday, and I bought it...it was only $20 at Wal-Mart...pretty surprised at that since theyare usually like $40. Anyways, since i enjoyed all of the LOTR series, the extended versions made them just that much better, especially to those who have followed the books. Just a few more scenes and facts that might not have been known except to those who have read the books before, I am actually really sad that there won't be any more LOTR to come out, i guess I will just have to wait until they make the Hobbit, which will most likely not come for a while. Is there anyone else who bought it, tell me what you thought of it.

I am stubbornly holding out for the entire trillogy (extended versions and extras) in one 15 DVD set... It will happen!

Caught Ocean's Twelve today. I wasn't impressed, except for the cast. Great cast, huge star power party, but that's about it. And there's actually less chemistry than the first one. Oh well...good for a matinee.

Just don't ask me about the Blockbuster rental fees on LOR, TT and RTK... probalbybought 5 boxed sts by now with my stubornness!

i bought ROTK EE and watched it. i liked it a lot. i was VERY happy with the house of healing ( I LOVED THE MUSIC IN THAT SCENE!!!!!!!!) and i LOVED the mouth of sauron. thoses were both huge scenes in the book that i was bummed out weren't in the theatrical version.

the only thing that pissed me off is they didn't do the whole speech in mount doom when frodo is about to throw the ring into the lava, he has a whole speech, concluding with " the ring is mine" i heard the whole speech was going to be in there and i was PISSED it wasn't!!!!

GREAT FILM!!!!! i have all the theatrical versions of the trilogy, as well as extended additions, and yes celt, i'll probably buy the 15 disc version when it comes out. i'm such a LOTR fan!! ( hench the name!!!:D)

i'm gonna try to catch " a series of unfortunate events" today. I LOVE THOSE BOOKS!!!

I finally got to see "Aviator" and it's a fantastic biopic film. Although it was close to 3 hours long, the movie went by fairly quickly. For one thing, Leo is brilliant as Howard Hughes as and more than likely he will walk away as a winner comes Oscar night along with Scorsese and Blanchett.

Leonardo best performance by far...

The big crash sequence felt so realistic; it was amazing special effects.

As we were exiting the cinema we could hear people say, "The way of the future" over and over...again. LOL

One of the best movies I have seen this year.
Deserve an A
