in between all the "sex and the city" i've been watching, i squeezed in the last samurai, and king arthur.

samurai was a fantastic film. the music was excellent, great cast, great story. it was definelty worth watching. i just LOVED the end.

king arthur, i just loved it. it wasn't that great of a film, but i just loved it anyways. i just love the guy who played the king, oh he is such a man. *yum* :D now i want to read the books ( if there are any non kid books) it was the directors cut, i'm curious to see the theatrical version now if i can find it LOL.

i think i'll drag my friend to either series of unfortunate events or closer tommorrow, i want to see those.

I am a huge fan of Arthurian Legends, read Mallory's The Death of Arthur and look at Tynnison's book as well. For cool contemporary view that is Bradly's Mists of Avalon (femnist book written from Morgain's perspective) and Stewarts Crystal Cave series more or less a series from Merlin's perspective.

I watched Darkness.

Fell asleep several times and don't remember anything except some pissed off guy yelling "It's the LARVA...it's the LARVA"

Worst movie ever.

ooo awesome. thanks for the suggestions. i was looking for book titles online last night, and the death of arthur was one that stood out to me. i'll look for it at the bookstore :)

just curious, did you like the movie??

I liked the movie "Arthur" quite a bit. Kiera Knightly looks good in blue.

I liked Lancelot the anti-hero, who I know better as Horatio Hornblower.

Action was good, swordfighting good. Story ok. Ending silly, they should have gone with the alternate ending that was shown on the DVD.

If you like Clive Owen, you'll enjoy Closer. He plays a complete bastard, but a damn sexy one (Natalie Portman and my beloved Jude are also quite nice to look at, FWIW).

Also, for a really good Clive Owen flick, I'd rent Croupier. Absolutely fantastic film, and his performance is great. He's also good in The Bourne Identity, albeit in rather limited minutes.

Eh, it was fun, but not well related to either the literary legand or the historical research into factual charaters that probably spawned the legends. So it was hart to get tooo into it, but then again Kira Knighly did make it a bit easier.

Well this xmas break i didn't go to the theatre AT ALL!! There have been movies that I have wanted to see, but i guess i just hadn't had time to go. Although, i did buy a few movies over break. I bought Anchorman...i don't know about you guys but i think will ferrell is an absolute comical genius, the movie is very stupid but damn ferrell just can always make me crack up with the things he says, that movie is instant classic comedy to me.

Bought Dodgeball, another very funny movie, i think vince vaugh is very funny in the comedic performances that he is given, even thought he was funny in anchorman as well (Wes Mantooth....hahaha)

I ended up buying eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, because it is such a good movie, recommended must see for those of you who don't know already.

Watched chronicles of riddick, ummm...i don't know why but i kinda liked it, i actually even somewhat liked pitch black when it came out, so go figure. I think it was because riddick is such a badass, pretty cool character.

also saw van helsing...again(saw in theatre also) not great, could have done a much better job, but i'm sure they will make a sequel and i will most likely go and watch it.

that's pretty much it for me, if i remember any more i will report back.

today was LOVELY. i splurged and bought a bunch of DVD's. of COURSE starting out with TROY!!!!! king arthur and bowling for columbine.

my friend and i were *SO* excited for troy to come out. i've had the soudntrack stuck in my head for a few days now, and i swear, each time they merely showed either brad pitt, orlando bloom or eric bana, we were swooning. even more so when they had little or no clothes on. what a wonderful movie. bad script, historical accuracy, book adaptation, but ahhh what a great movie. LOL how shallow does that sound :D ( i'm seriously not this shallow, i've been watching nothing but sex and the city for the past week, so seeing some HOT men, oh i needed that :D)

i never realized what a good place target was to buy DVD's on the cheap.

I also bought troy evenstar...but not for pitt, bana or bloom, although pitt does make awesome movies....FIGHT CLUB (look at my signature quote) anyways i love greek mythology, it was my favorite subject in a high school english class i took, i actually still have the notes from the class...sorry for rambling, anyways, troy has an awesome intimate fight sequence between pitt and bana that should definitely win...an Mtv award or somethin.hehe. First time i saw this movie i was so into that scene... my heart was pounding pretty hard. Just watch and you'll see.

I can't believe this but i also forgot to tell everyone about the other movie i bought over xmas break and that was NAPOLEON DYNAMITE...this is a funny...funny movie, but it all depends on how you see it. Some, or most people do not like it the first time through because the characters are so damn weird, but once you get past the weirdness and see how well the lead actor plays a nerd, it is friggin hilarious...anyways...that's all i got for today.

Yea, I loved Closer. Very beautiful cast, but that's part of the whole point of the movie. It's a really dark film, but intelligently written. I hope you enjoy it.

Croupier was good too, like Gadget suggested.

I think i am finally going to return to the theatre today to see WHITE NOISE, i really like Michael Keaton, and i think that he can do a good job in a creepy movie like that. Anyways hopefully i will be able to report back on it and tell you all how it is...

saw white noise....it was a little slow at first, got a little better towards the middle and then the end was kinda lame. I would advise everybody to go watch this as a matinee.

Saw The Aviator, excelent film. Honestly I generaly despise Leanardo Di Caprio, but the kid is great in it. 3hr move kept me rivited in my seat.

i just saw phantom of the opera, and *WOW* just *WOW*

that was an amazing movie. the score was awesome, the singing, oh i just loved it all. i'll be buying the soundtrack as soon as i have a chance.

even if you don't like opera, go see this movie.

Evenstar...please do me a favor and just buy the original broadway cast recording. The movie was amazing visually, but the quality of voices in the original broadway cast recording is far superior. Trust me.

I, too, am a big fan of Arthurian stories and books. I just finished the Crystal Cave series. I highly recommend that series to anyone who like the Arthur stories.

Napoleon Dynamite is quite possibly the stupidest movie I have ever seen in my entire life. When I was sitting in the movie watching it I could feel my IQ going down the drain.

That being said its funny as hell to talk about after you have seen it.

You've seen Excalibur, right? Now that's a King Arthur movie.

If you liked Meet the Parents you should enjoy Meet the Fockers. I personally thought Meet the Parents was funnier, but there are some good laughs too in Meet the Fockers.

Aviator is definitely worth seeing. Although it is 3 hours it goes by fast and Leo deserves an Oscar for his performance. (He won the Golden Glove for Aviator tonight.)

If you want a breezy, fast paced, fun movie to kill an evening Oceans 12 is your movie.

Jim Carrey was great in A Series of Unfortunate Events and if you like the books you should enjoy the movie.

I am a huge Bill Murray fan but I personally didn't much care for Life Aquatic.
I thought they were trying to be to "hip" and it fell flat in many places.

I saw Troy for the first time this weekend and although the Bradster is certainly "hunkalicious" I thought he did a better job of acting on his last vacation with Jen earlier this month.

Can you tell I am a big movie fan? :D

So true, it's a great movie from start to finish. I have seen it twice and I don't go back for second rarely.

My little cousin who is 10 loves it also and she told me at one point she needed to use the restroom but she didn't want to miss a scene.
