I rented
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow tonight. I was disappointed when I saw it in the theatre, probably because I was expecting too much from it, but I really enjoyed it on a second viewing.
Not a perfect movie by any means, but very fun. And, being a huge art deco fan, I got totally into the retro-futuristic feel of it. Production design is very good, and the computer backgrounds work quite nicely -- the CG robots don't stick out as much as they would against real sets. My biggest problem was that the dialogue (and Gwenyth Paltrow's delivery, especially) do NOT do justice to the era they're trying to capture (
His Girl Friday, etc.).
Lastly, I think that Jude and Angie should do more films together. Many, many more.
Although, that could be dangerous. I had to be physically restrained from licking the TV screen.
