i watching " maria full of grace" the other night.

VERY good movie. but at the same time it made me mad since i bet thats the way many illegal immigrants come into and stay in this country. it was wierd, i was pissed about that, but at the same time i was also hoping the girl would stay in the states since her baby would have a much better life.

I had to wait for it to come out on tape, but I finally watched it last night after the game.

...

OMG.

This is not a movie for children and it's not an easy movie to watch if you keep it mind it's a true story and the events depicted actually happened.

...

I will not soon forget this film. Don Cheadle is unforgettable.

Those same type of events contenue in The Darfour region of Somollia and else where. Human rights are far from universal.

I think what shocked me the most was to find out the whole problem in Rwanda was basically caused when the Belgians originally invented the two tribes - Hutus and Tutsies - and then basically played them against each other, allowing one tribe to totally dominate and subjugate the other. Man's inhumanity to man certainly isn't limited by a lack of creativity.

:(

i saw "big fish" on sat.

it was so good!!!! lots of imagination, cool stories, just lots of fun. loved the cast, and loved the ending.

Just saw Kung Fu Hustle... big fun sort of what you would get if Quintan Tarintino madea Kung Fu movie with Loony Tunes.

watched cellular last night....really a good movie, i had my doubts at first but it turned out really well. i would recommend it.

i watched the red violin tonight, and i thought it was very good. took me a while to get into it, and i was tempted to turn it off, but it did get good, and i loved it at the end.

i also watched " a series of unfortunate events" and i have to say i was disappointed. they ruined my favorite part too!!! ( where violet was signing the wedding certificate) i need to reread the books since they way catered to the audience. it didn't have nearly the charm of the books. jim carry did play a great count olaf, but at times he was too over the top ( to be expected) i did like the children, they were cast great. the 2 things that ticked me off the most were klaus having no glasses and mr poe not having his cough.

hopefully future installements will be better, but i doubt it. instead i'll look forward to reading the 10th book, the slippery slope

I really liked this movie too. Bought the DVD. However, I was surprised in how much humor it had in this movie.

When does the Star War movie come out?

j/k

Rock, are you j/k because you already know when it comes out, or are you j/k because you don't really want to know? ;)

Lately, Isnt it pretty hard not to know when its coming out? I swear ive seen commercials and more commercials for the last 2 months about it:p

I want to see the Star Wars movie, but it will be such a mad house I don't know if it's possible to actually get the tickets and get in the theater. I mean, there are some Star Wars nerds that go to every single showing for the entire run of the movie!

What's wrong with that? Some people like these types of movies and can see it all the time. I see nothing wrong with it, nor do I call them nerds.

I thought it was a dumb movie at the beginning as well. We rented it, and I didn't want to see it in the beginning. But then my mom told it was good so I watched it.

I think it was a really good movie. The plot was a really good idea.

Well, umm, they need to get lives. No, but seriously I just get irritated because they take tickets away from people like me who never get a chance to see it consequently. But then again they pay more money than I do, so that's more important.

Nertz to Star Wars Episode... whatever.

That franchise was ruined for me the minute that George Lucas decided to ruin the masters of the original trilogy.

Well, that was what put my fandom on a respirator. Jar Jar Binks pulled the plug.

Anywho, I plan on seeing Crash this weekend. It has a great cast (sans Sandra Bullock) and is getting good reviews.

I agree with you. When Lucas started adding junk like Jar Jar, that was it for me. And now he has tinkered with the DVD editions of the trilogy and added that junk. Ugh. However, this newest one does sound more traditional, so I think I will try to see it.

ok, we rented A Series of Unfortunate Events(for kids) and Blade Trininty(for us)...

both were really good. but WHAT was with the spyglass in Unfortunate?

and mmm....Wesley Snipes....now there is a handsome man....

I just came back from seeing Crash. Excellent movie. It is deff. one of my most favorite movies. I loved every minute of it. It made me laugh and cry and it made grip the cupholders on the arm rest so hard out of shock. It makes you think too. I love this movie so much and Don cheadle is so greeeeeaaaaaaaaaat! (not that he wasn't before) and the mexican guy is the best character in the movie. Did I mention that this is a great film?

Just got back from seeing The Hitchhikers Guide To the Galaxy.........it rocked!

I'm soooo happy I saw it in the theatre.. Douglas Adams is one of the screenplay writers and one of the Executive Producers. It was truer to the book then any of the others I've seen recently, even more so then the tolkein movies.

on a scale of 1-10, I give it a 42!

if you are a fan of the book, go and see the movie.!! WOOOOOOOOOOhooooooooo!!!

ps.HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all the moms on the board!

I just saw Crash yesterday too. I thought it was amazing. It's a really moving and though provoking film. In the scene towards the end with the mexican character and his daughter, everyone in the theater jumped and screamed. I literally had chills...The acting is amazing too. I would recommed it to anyone...it's the first movie i've seen in a long time that I actually want to go back and see again!

i saw kingdom of heaven today. it wasn't what i thought it was, but it was alright. there were definetly good parts about it, i loved the cast, and thought it was well acted. i thought orlando bloom did a nice job as the lead. what i didn't like what the fact that it kinda ended, and that "ending" was kinda disappointing. but it really didn't end since the holy wars in jerusalem are still going on these days.

and to those who are bagging on star wars, oh no you didn't :D i do agree jar jar is a pain in the ***, but the idea of seeing how anakin becomes darth vadar is intresting, or is it not??? then again i am a junkie, so i guess that explains our differences. i still love the original trilogy, nothing replaces their magic, but the new trilogy is still lots of fun. i do miss the old school special effects from the old trilogy. the new stuff is a bit over the top for me ( well i do love the sounds they have created)

Also saw Kingdom of Heaven today, and I thought it sucked. I'm surprised this movie didn't draw controversy, because Christians get hammered in this one.

I also thought the acting was horrible. I'd say this one will remind producers not to hire Orlando Bloom as the lead-actor in the future.
