Sin City was very gory.

Anyone who takes a child to see that movie needs a talkin' to. How much harder can a "R" rating get?

Carla Gugino has a bod, man. So does Jessica Alba. Whew!

Nice to see someone else gives Gugino some props. Everybody drools over Alba in this movie, and in the real world of course I'd be ecstatic to date someone with her looks. But in the fantasy world, I'd take Gugino over her any day. In the novel, Gugino's character also had a role in Bruce Willis's storyline, but they either never filmed it or cut all of it out.

FYI, the last scene in the movie was not in any of the Sin City books, but it does help clear up the fate of that particular character. What happened to the character in the novel in question was never totally clear to me, so it was something I was happy to see. A great movie, although Brittany Murphy couldn't act her way out of a paper bag in it.

I finally saw Sin City yesterday, and the day before that I saw Beauty Shop.

Beauty Shop- hilarious but don't see it if you can't handle the whole "black/white stereotype" jokes. Alicia Silverstone was great.

Sin City- Gory action with sick twists (I loved it!) Some of the stars I didn't even know were in the movie like Josh Hartnet (sp?) and Elijah Wood. Great movie. If it wasn't so long I'd see it again in the theater, now I'll just wait for DVD. I recommend to people who love goryness. And like L.A. Brian said earlier, Brittany Murphy really sucked in this movie.

Well the books were written years ago when Carlos the Jackel was still an active assian and the cold war was on. I liked the books emensly but that was 20 years ago and I am not sure how well they hold up or translate to younger readers. The screen palys seem to do a good job of taking some of the basic elements and bringing them into the 21st century.

watched sin city....finally on sat....started off wondering what the hell the rush was for...it seemed like things were goin a mile a min and i just didn't understand, but after figuring that the movie was supposed to be very quick and jumpy(meaning jumps to scenes very quick, not makes me jump) i really started to enjoy it. For one it looked incredible, and i ended up thinking that out of all the comic book films i had seen, that this was definitely the most in-depth, as well as violent. But then again, i think it was the violence that made this movie pretty damn good. The whole time the movie was playing i remember just whispering to my girlfriend...."that's crazy", because a lot of the stuff the characters were doing was crazy...but in a good way, i like movies that make me say..."whoa!" Artistically i think that this was one of the coolest movies i had seen in a while, and the main characters were very interesting to watch.

I know LA Brian had said something about not bringing the kids to see this movie and he is right...you really shouldn't bring a young un' to this movie because it is pretty sick or twisted.

All together, i thought this movie was great...if you are into violence and artistic films as well....go check it out for sure.

i really want to. i might check it out tonight.

i watched "finding neverland" last night, and i just loved it. johnny depp is such a fantastic actor, kate winslet is such a great actress. pair those 2 together with a good plot, and it was such a good movie. i really loved seeing the final production of peter pan, the kids in the audience, such magic. 5 stars, i loved it.

you do realize that Amityville Horror a remamke of a bad adaptation of book based on a well known hoax? I honestly do not understand how any one would wnat to make the movie in thefirst palce much less try to sell it as a true story.

I am planning to watch "Fever Pitch" this weekend. I wanted to catch it last week but didn't get a chance. Maybe the following week, I would like to see "Beauty Shop".

Drew is such a sweetheart and Jimmy is goofy yet so cute, so eager to watch it.

Bruce Willis took his two young daughters to the premire. I was like, isn't this movie rated R.

It'll sell more tickets, of course. After looking into it, I don't buy the whole story either, and I had to groan when I first saw the "Based on a true story" byline. But you have to remember that the story is being resold to a generation that knows squat about the story. And, to my knowledge, no one from the Lutz family has admitted to it being a hoax. As long as the family says it's a true story, I think that byline is fair game. Hoax or not, it is a good story. I'm not up in arms about remaking it as opposed to, say, talk of Sam Raimi remaking "Evil Dead." Now THAT'S sacrilege.

I read the article about it, and there was no quotes from Willis regarding it. Rodriguez mentioned something about how even though he wouldn't let his own kids see it, it would depend on the parent/child relationship. Then he talked about Bruce's kids having grown up in the industry and knowing Sin City is an artificial world. But just because it's a work of fiction doesn't mean it can't mess with a kid's head. This film could easily warp the more impressionable youth (I'd love to cite specific examples, but I know that wouldn't fly here). If anything, I guess this shows how strong a bond and a level of trust Bruce has with his daughters.

On the other hand, my first uncut R-rated movie was First Blood (i.e. the first Rambo movie), which I saw in the theaters when I was 11. At least back then, that was a pretty brutal invitation to R-rated stortytelling. But apart from the occasional bloodthirsty lust for revenge and the more occasional need to hurl as many expletives as possible in one sentence, I think I turned out just fine!

Did I mention Carla Gugino is hot?

i watched " silence of the lambs" last night. i had never seen it, talk about creepy. but i LOVE anthony hopkins. he was just so creepy, it was fantastic. buffalo bill NASTY!!!!!!!!!!! very good movie. loved the very ending :)

Sam Raimi already made a remake of Evil Dead....it's called Evil Dead 2...did anyone else ever find it kinda strange that this is pretty much exactly the same film as the original evil dead....it's really weird that you even mentioned it L.A. Brian because i just watched evil dead 2 yesterday...I love those damn movies...i think bruce cambell is so funny...facial expressions sometimes are the funniest form of comedy, and he has some pretty funy ones. Army of darkness is also pretty funny.

Just watched Hoosiers..missed the first 15-20 minutes..did I miss anything important in that time? Wonderful movie..impressive performance by Hackman.. parts of it made me cry(I'm a wimp at movies sometimes)

Some movies I saw recently and I recommend:

Sling blade (Billy Bob Thorton in a great role)
Straight Story (David Lynch's Disney movie !)
Bad Education (Mala Educacion, a movie by Pedro Almodovar, very contraversial theme)
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind
Sex and Lucia (another great Spanish movie, lots of nudity)
and of course ... Sin City

I to want to see the new Amy. movie. I am huge fan of the book. It scared me half to death when I read it years and years and years ago. I even begged my parents in 1984 to let me go to the house when we had a layover in New York not understanding at that age that Amytyville is nowhere near the airport. The whole story is so fascinating to me. I believe in all the ghostly spirits, etc...... Now, it looks like from the promos I have seen that this new movie strays from the book even more than the original but I will go see it.

i watched a movie last night called " real women have curves" it was a GREAT movie. the girl was my age, i struggle with some of the issues she struggled with ( well maybe not as extreme as she did, but in a way i do)

i highly recommend it for a late teens/early 20's girl. well women in general might enjoy it, but it's targeted towards younger women.

Omagosh! I love that movie! A lot of young girls should watch it. It shows you that you're not the only one dealing with problems like the main character.

I just watched I Heart Huckabees. It is a very funny movie and the best job I seen Mark Wahlberg do. A very enterianing movie about existentialism.

  You are lucky! I can't find this movie on Dvix in Belgrade, and I really want to watch this!

I finally saw Kill Bill Vol 1&2 last night. They were both excellent movies. Was worth the time sitting in front of the tube for those hours. More gory then I actually thought it wouldbe though. I thought it was a bit much though.

i think the goryness (word?) of kill bill's make them kinda cool. I love those movies and i wish for some reason he could have made them into a trilogy. Just so i could have something to look forward to from tarantino, i love that guy. He makes such good movies.

I saw amityville horror on sat, and IMO it was pretty good. I t actually made me jump a few times, mainly because some of the images shown were just freaky...there were a few different things from the original but you can really tell that the director from the remake of texas chainsaw massacre made this as well...he does a pretty good job with horror remakes if you ask me. I would probably go watch this again. Just a word of note, if you didnt like the remake of texas chainsaw, then you prolly shouldn't go and watch this.

At Cannes this year, Tarantino screened Kill Bill Integrale, which is the two volumes as one the way it was originally intended (five minute intermission between volumes and sans cliffhanger ending from vol. 1 and recap beginning from vol. 2).

There are rumors that this version will possibly get a theatrical release at some point. If that is the case, I'll be there opening night. If nothing else, its sure to get a special edition DVD release. Or two or three.

oh how cool, gogo...(go go like kill bill...hahaha...sorry i'm a nerd) I would definitely be there opening night as well, and that would be so cool if they made a dvd, it would work out good because i let someone borrow my kill bill 1, and they lost it, you know how mad i must have been, i love that damn movie. Anyways, tarantino is a bad@$$.

I seen Hotel Rwanda, excellent movie! Bring your kleenex.

I had to wait for it to come out on tape, but I finally watched it last night after the game.

...

OMG.

This is not a movie for children and it's not an easy movie to watch if you keep it mind it's a true story and the events depicted actually happened.

...

I will not soon forget this film. Don Cheadle is unforgettable.
