you do realize that Amityville Horror a remamke of a bad adaptation of book based on a well known hoax? I honestly do not understand how any one would wnat to make the movie in thefirst palce much less try to sell it as a true story.
It'll sell more tickets, of course. After looking into it, I don't buy the whole story either, and I had to groan when I first saw the "Based on a true story" byline. But you have to remember that the story is being resold to a generation that knows squat about the story. And, to my knowledge, no one from the Lutz family has admitted to it being a hoax. As long as the family says it's a true story, I think that byline is fair game. Hoax or not, it is a good story. I'm not up in arms about remaking it as opposed to, say, talk of Sam Raimi remaking "Evil Dead." Now THAT'S sacrilege.

Bruce Willis took his two young daughters to the premire. I was like, isn't this movie rated R.
I read the article about it, and there was no quotes from Willis regarding it. Rodriguez mentioned something about how even though he wouldn't let his own kids see it, it would depend on the parent/child relationship. Then he talked about Bruce's kids having grown up in the industry and knowing Sin City is an artificial world. But just because it's a work of fiction doesn't mean it can't mess with a kid's head. This film could easily warp the more impressionable youth (I'd love to cite specific examples, but I know that wouldn't fly here). If anything, I guess this shows how strong a bond and a level of trust Bruce has with his daughters.
On the other hand, my first uncut R-rated movie was First Blood (i.e. the first Rambo movie), which I saw in the theaters when I was 11. At least back then, that was a pretty brutal invitation to R-rated stortytelling. But apart from the occasional bloodthirsty lust for revenge and the more occasional need to hurl as many expletives as possible in one sentence, I think I turned out just fine!
Did I mention Carla Gugino is hot?
