I rented "birth" yesterday...I want my 3.95 and my 2 hours back...that was the stupidest movie I have ever seen.

I just saw Crash yesterday too. I thought it was amazing. It's a really moving and though provoking film. In the scene towards the end with the mexican character and his daughter, everyone in the theater jumped and screamed. I literally had chills...The acting is amazing too. I would recommed it to anyone...it's the first movie i've seen in a long time that I actually want to go back and see again!
I screamed at that part and I almost cried. I too will see it again this weekend.

Also saw Kingdom of Heaven today, and I thought it sucked. I'm surprised this movie didn't draw controversy, because Christians get hammered in this one.

I also thought the acting was horrible. I'd say this one will remind producers not to hire Orlando Bloom as the lead-actor in the future.

I agree with you %100. It's as if Ridly Scott sat back in his chair and said "let's make the most trite movie possible." The movie had no plot, character development or any purpose for that matter. I wouldn't be surprised if they re-wrote the script a good 50 times during production

Just got back from seeing The Hitchhikers Guide To the Galaxy.........it rocked!

I'm glad someone enjoyed it.

It was absolutely literally mind-numbing. It was also very, very offensive.

Could you guys please not spoil movies for those of us who haven't seen them yet?? Sheesh. Or at least post a big 'spoiler warning' before you give away a storyline.

Hammered as in "they got their behinds handed to them by the muslims" or hammered as in the dialogue was biased against Christians?

If it was the former, than that's ok, because with the exception of the first Crusade, the Muslims pretty much slaughtered the Christians.

Funny how the history books tend to place all the emphasis on that first Crusade instead of numbers 2-10 or however many there were.

i watched 2 different cirque du soleil's, varakei and quidam.

i liked the girl singing in quidam.

can't go wrong with cirque :D i want to see it live SO bad!

i think today i am going to watch Kicking and Screaming, although i really want to see Crash, i cannot resist a Will Ferrel movie, i honestly think that he is a comical genius. I cant tell you how many SNL skits i have downloaded on my computer of him, and i also own the two volumes of his greatest SNL moments. He was the first guy to get a volume two...i think that's kinda cool.

i watched the movie " elizabeth" last night. it was alright. not really what i was expecting, but i though cate blanchett was AWESOME! music was also pretty good.

I actually bought "the life aquatice" not sure what the he** I was thinking. It was the dumbest boringest stupidest bunch of dribble I have ever watched. Not sure what I was thinking...I have a nack for picking crap. I am thinking of taking it back and saying the dvd is defective I am so mad.

I saw hitch hikers guide and I thought it was dumb. What was mos def thinking? he's too talented for that stupid movie.

I saw crash again too.

Tonight I'm gonna go see unleashed. It looks really good.

Watched kicking and screaming, wasn't what i expected...i should have noticed that it was rated PG, and that means that it is a family film. It was entertaining, especially if you have kids and took them. But there were some funny parts that everyone can laugh at, if you go and see it make sure that it is a matinee.

I also bought Steve Zissau Life Aquatic yesterday and have not had the chance to watch it yet, is it really that bad...i bought it without watching it in the theatre, and i had only done that with one other movie and luckily it was good. I hope i didnt just waste 16 bucks.

i saw life aquatic in the theater, didn't know why i spent the money and the time, but my sister who went with me loved it a whole lot and said it's the best comedy she's seen.
it depends on what you like, there's some adult humor and dry humor in it that you either get it or you don't. if you don't , (or not appreciate it) you may find the movie incredible boring and pointless, sometimes even offending.
but if you do, you may like it. it's one of those movies, you like it, or you don't.

i would say go exchange it for phantom of the opera, that's the best movie i've seen since the Lord of the Rings.

I watched that movie with 6 adults and 2 teens...most of the adults are fairly intelligent I believe..hehe..anyhow the consensus was...stinker....

Star Wars. Aren't all of these movies based on books? I have not read any of the books myself, but it is my understanding they are a series of books. You have the first 3-Phantom Menace, forget the 2nd and the ROTS....the middle 3-Star Wars, Empire and Return and then you have the final 3. Was JAR JAR not in the books? Someone please tell me.

Watched the Grudge finally on On Demand. Not great. Couple creepy parts, but no good.

we watched The Phantom of the Opera...loved the first transition effect, the rest were ok.The guy playing the phantom needs some more singing lessons..but overall a really good movie.

also watched oceans twelve..nowhere near as good as the first--passable though.

(and a quick question for those who didn't like Hitchhikers---did you read the book? are you a fan of Douglas Adams' writings?----if you're not I definitely wouldn't recommend it for those of you who haven't or aren't)

The STAR WARS films ARE NOT based on books. Any books out there were written AFTER THE FACT. George Lucas wrote all the films, screenplays, etc. They were and are his creations. Go, enjoy the movies. As I said, any books you read are after-the-fact and have nothing to do with the original visions of George Lucas.

I love Andrew Lloyd Webber and thoroughly enjoyed The Phamtom of the Opera. I thought the costuming and staging were particularly intriguing. I will definitely be adding this one to my ALW collection.

STAR WARS 2NITE!!!!!!!!!!OMG....I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE THE DAY HAS FINALLY COME!!!! CAN THIS DAY BE OVER ANY FASTER...I'M STUCK AT WORK THINKING OF STAR WARS...HELP ME!!! ok I'm not crazy, just very excited.

OMG!!!!!!

i just got back from the midnight showing of star wars and WOW!!!!!! that was BLEEPING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

i got in line at 7, and tey let us in the theatre, that was the longest 5 hours of my life, but finally that all familar 20th century fox greeting, and it was on. great battle scenes, AWESOME soundtrack. loved it.

if any other star wars junkie wants to talk with spoilers, PM please, i am dying to talk star wars!!!!!

I can't believe that i hadn't had the chance to tell everyone about ROTS yet, it was great, seriously it was the coolest Star Wars, very dark, which made the story actually a little better, ends on somewhat of a down note like Empire. I just thought that it was great.

Evenstar, u had to wait 5 hrs!!!!????

I only had to be at the theatre by like 10:30 and i got perfect seating, you must live in a much bigger town than me. Anyone else go to watch it yet?

Do you think it might be better to see ROTS at a weekday matinee? My brother is coming into town next week and we both really want to see it. Do you think I would still need to Fandango tickets for the matinee?

Recently, I watched the triology Three Colors (Blue, White, and Red) It's a French-Polish coproduction, and these are some neat movies with great acting and great directing...

you probably won't need fandango for weekdays. i went on monday during the day, and i live in a pretty big area and it wasn't even half full.

enjoy it :D
