Mo Williams?

Kings trade John Salmons, and Shelden Williams (we have to wait until Williams becomes eligible to trade)

Bucks trade Mo Williams

Looks like the Bucks got the steal of the 2nd round last year in Ramon Sessions. I just posted in the other thread about McGee and how we can't really say a school in the WAC is "small" anymore. Jeez.. Then I remember Sessions tearing it up with 24 assists in a single game in like his 5th start or something. And 6 of his 7 starts he had double digit assists.

Sessions in the last 7 games he got to start;
13.1ppg 13.1apg 5.6rpg 3.6topg (about a 3.7 to 1 assist-t/o ratio)

This leaves Mo Williams who might become expendable. Granted it was the end of the year, and everyone was playing their bench this has to sill impress some of the Bucks brass, and if they were looking to make a trade why don't the Kings offer Salmons? (the Bucks need a SF in a major way because Simmons sucks and Mason is not getting any better with age).

Reasons why the Kings do it is who knows if we can re-sign Beno? Plus getting a guy like Williams would lock up the PG spot for years to come. Salmons isn't doing well off the bench, and if Artest stays another year then Salmons will continue to play sub-par BBall.

Bucks do it to get a SF who can create his own shot, and hit it consistently. Also a PF who can maybe get some minutes off the bench, but who knows..

Why the Kings don't do it is the same reason as above... If things mess up do we want to pay a guy 8-9mil/yr for 5 more years? He's not the best defender in the world either...

I can't really think of a reason the Bucks wouldn't do it.. They get to start Sessions, and get rid of a salary as well. Now all they have to do is get rid of Gadzuric, Simmons, and Bell and they will be set.. Those three guys are eating up so much salary, and not contributing at all.

I would do it if he was a good defender but he is a terrible defender. Paired up with Martin... eh I dunno. He is a Petrie type of PG IMO though, but I dunno. I dunno if he's a Theus type of player. To be honest I rather have Sessions but obviously they won't let him go.

Something in my gut says no. Defense and lack of assists are our biggest weakness. I'm not sure he would help in either reguard. Plus the length of contract bothers me. I do think either Salmons or Artest will go. Salmons in particular, because he has only one kind of offense and it requires ball domination. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for Salmons, I just don't think he fits our team concept.

i like mo williams but id prefer tj ford... both are in the same situation... both teams have the same need... and toronto actually tried to get salmons until we somehow snatched him away... and the raptors back up pf situation is a lot worse than the bucks... salmons and williams/moore for ford sounds a lot better...

I like it.

I'll try to up you one...:D

Salmons, Moore, A.Johnson(s&t 1yr/$3M) and our first 2nd round pick

for

Ford, Kapono and their first round draft pick

Calderon/Johnson
Parker/Delfino
Salmons/Moon
Bosh/Moore
Nesterovic/Bargnani

They do it because they get 1 quality starter and 2 quality backups, plus they dump a worthless contract in Kapono. They will have $8M in expirings that they can use to re-sign whoever they need to.

Ford/Douby
Martin/Garcia
Artest/Garcia/Kapono
Williams/DRAFT PICK/DRAFT PICK
Miller/Hawes

We do it because we get a young PG that can rack up assists and isn't lost on defense. Plus we get a potentially decent draft pick. Sure we have to take on Kapono's crap contract but it is not as bad as it looks because next year we will have Artest and Garcia eating up all the minutes and the year after Kapono will be an expiring and we can just cut him if we want.

i thought about that too but that would leave no playing time for garcia... im sure theus would play kapono over gacia... but if artest is gone then that would be a good idea... if that were to happen we could just save our mle this year...

I've lost much of my taste for Williams after watching the Milwaulkee debacle this year. There's talent there, but I'm not sure it comes attached to a brain stem.
