Moloch in whom I dream Angels!

I'm happy to see the Cincinnati Reds finally starting to have some success after what feels like an endless rebuilding cycle. Their rookie Elly De La Cruz is looking like the international free agent signing of the century so far. 2 years ago nobody had heard of this kid and now he's putting up prime Barry Bonds numbers at 21 years old.

No kidding! Only been called up to big leagues 2 week ago and already most sensational, talked about baseball player on the planet. Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz at a svelte 6'5" looks like Usain Bolt flying around the bases for historic cycle. Dominican Cruz missile in jet-black Reds uni looks so cool. Some kind of new on the scene lethal weapon for those scorching red hot Reds.

Honest questions for the rest of you Giants fans...

A. Do we have enough on both sides of the ball (hitting and pitching/defense) to hold off the Dodgies for 2nd place in the division?
B. Do we have enough on both sides of the ball to win the NL West?
I’m worried about the lack of starting pitching….the pen and young guys have been doing a heck of a job, but sure would be nice if Manaea and Stripling pitched to their capabilities. I expect Kyle Harrison to make his debut and help soon

Hitting? Yes, especially if these young guys keep producing.

Pitching? No. We need Harrison to come up and be awesome and probably another quality starter at the trade deadline. Cobb/Disco/Wood can be good, but they're super injury prone and super inconsistent. Stripling and Manea have also pitching well below expectation, but I think we need to do better than just hope they rebound.

I can’t see this team holding off the Dodgers. Hitting seems fine, defense seems fine… but man, the starting rotation seems busted. The few bullpen games every trip through the rotation is eventually going to hurt this team. Gotta hope Harrison comes up and is as advertised, that would be absolutely massive.

Yeah, and unfortunately, looks like Alex Wood and Junis might just be terrible now. So I think you have 3 guys (Webb, Cobb, Disco) and otherwise we're just throwing absolute darts. Someone from that Stripling, Manaea, Junis, Wood tier needs to step up. Manaea has looked a bit better, which is good news and he's still got his K stuff. I think he's the most likely candidate.

And Disco also kind of sucks. Starting rotation is rough.

He doesn't, but he's like a back end 4/5 starter. Certainly not someone I'd feel great starting in a playoff series, but he's more than good enough as an innings eater in the regular season
Ya, I guess so. Looking back at his starts it seems when he implodes, he implodes hard and those stood front of the memory for me.

Right on cue with the last couple of posts, Disco gonna Disco. Smh

Recovered from a rough beginning and lots of hard hit balls though.

And Sabol goes full Mauricio Dubon on the basepaths to ruin a rally.

Ryan Walker opener. Gives up a 2b and bloop 1b then strikes out Vlad, Belt and Chapman. Nice job youngster. Meanwhile Gausman revenge game it looks like early

What a HUGE Alex Wood outing here. 5 IP, 5 hits, 7K, 0 BB.

Giants pitching overall: 9 IP, 8 hits, SEVENTEEN STRIKEOUTS, 0 Walks

10 straight road wins. I think it's time boys, this team is just flat out good.

Bailey may also be that dude.

He’s been the best in baseball at cutting down base stealers since he came up. Hitting for power and average and handling the staff well. Makes sense the season took a complete u-turn as soon as he came up.

Bailey hit .225 in SINGLE-A last year. I wonder if anyone saw this leap in their wildest dreams. Was always a golden defensive guy.

Seemingly all the top 20 Giants prospects last year underachieved. This year they are back to normal production. Matos was fire, Luciano is going well, Harrison is going well, Carson Whisenhunt was added to the futures roster, all types of pitchers at all levels are showing great potential.

Disco is so mid. Should be a 5th starter / long reliever.

Webb rocks.
Cobb is fine.
Wood has his two trips through the rotation.

Walker, Wynn, and Beck seem solid enough to fill a spot while we wait for Harrison. Should work on stretching them out.
