MLB Thread - 2023

Love how our Bullpen all of a sudden just morphed into 2010-2014 stud status where everyone is just absolute nails.

We need more talent at SP, but man. That's about it.

How about Matos/Bailey/Schmitt with a BB/single/BB in the clutch? Awesome to see the kids continue to contribute to wins over and over again. Love seeing Schmitt especially have 2 huge AB's the last few games after a few weeks of really struggling

Has to be Harrison szn soon. Who’s even the starting rotation right now?

Webb
Disco
Wood
And two bullpen games?
Yeah I think so too. Cobb and Stripling eventually get back, but... eh.

The nice thing is we already have a system to just absorb Harrison into. Just have him take over that bulk role behind the opener. 3-4 IP/start. So you don't have to worry about PC.

Cobb gets his spot back when healthy again. Stripling looked toasted… getting beat out by Manea. Yuck.

Don't know how long the bullpen magic can keep going, but hey, I'll take it. They've been LIGHTS out since May.

Matos 2 hits, Sabol 2 hits, Schmitt 2 BB's. Kids continue to be impressive.

Matos has struck out ONE time in 29 PA. 6-1 BB-K ratio. That's truly impressive plate discipline from a 21 year old rookie kid in his first week in the majors.

hard to believe that this move is going to happen when the only people in the world who seem in favor of it are Manfred and John Fisher
And Nevada's governor Joe Lombardo who held his state legislature captive for 4 days of special sessions (which cost Nevada taxpayers $1 million) until they ultimately voted to approve a stadium funding bill which was amended to include two other bills that he'd previously vetoed. What a guy.

The other interesting wrinkle to this is that I don't think there's a precedent for a team turning down almost $500 million in public financing from their current city to take less public money somwhere else. The latest threat to overturn MLBs anti-trust exemption might gain some momentum once that information is circulated through congress.

Honest questions for the rest of you Giants fans...

A. Do we have enough on both sides of the ball (hitting and pitching/defense) to hold off the Dodgies for 2nd place in the division?
B. Do we have enough on both sides of the ball to win the NL West?
