Minnesota Picks

The Minnesota Timberwolves could possibly have 4 first round draft picks this year. Their GM is now their coach, and his track records for trades is abysmal. What would it take to get one of those 1st round picks. Geoffe would be a beast with 3 1sts to rebuild this team with! Do you think that we would need to take a bad contract on, or could we swap an expiring young guy like Sheldon or Quincy for one of the later picks? Thoughts?

You would think they would be wanting to move at least one of those four picks... four first round rookies would be hard for a team.

If all we wanted was the Boston Pick, I think it would be easy to do a Moore for Cardinal swap. This would also have the added benefit of never having to watch Moore steal Jason Thompson's minutes again.

I also noticed that. There's no way they need all those. I'm all for adding more picks, especially if we can package two late rounders (perhaps Bostons along with our Houston pick) for a middle first rounder, to make a run at someone like Mills, Collison or Lawson if we don't take a PG with our 1st.

They are in an even fuller rebuild than we are. Vets for picks won't work in their case -- that's the advantage of dealing wiht playoff teams. Classic pattern is playoff teams giving up youth + picks to pluck useful vets from struggling ones. But now when you are dealing wiiht a fellow rebuilder, you both want the same things. The Sheldon/Quincy ideamight have some merit, if Minnesota is high on either of them for some reason, and if we don't end up taking back a long term salary and blow an ender in the deal. And the other thing might just be a roster spot question -- if they are not going to have room for all those picks on their roster next year, you might be able to do a simple your pick now for our pick later sort of trade.
