Mikki Moore...

I think now that Mikki is settling in with the Kings and with Hawes showing that he has at least a glimmer of an idea of how to play NBA style, we won't see SAR again and just a few cameo appearances by KT. That should satisfy most people including me.

I don't know if Mikki will have many games that duplicate this last one but those stats on the last 5 games show something encouraging. I wonder if Mikki's incessant clapping is inspiring Brad 'cause Brad seems to be having a better year than last - but that's another story.

Petrie's decision to use the MLE may have been a good one. It was an attempt to improve this team at a position that had no real starter. (If you look at Mikki's contract and the team's cap position as a whole now and in the years ahead you will see that his contract doesn't hurt us at all.)

It appears that Mikki WILL contribute and his bad hands will be less of a part of his game. :) He said he was nervous when he came here because he knew that finally someone put some money on the line and expected him to produce. It put pressure on him. Maybe he's settling down. Hey, he's human.

I like the guy and have from the beginning. It's just difficult sometimes to say something that goes against the flow as you risk taking flack. His clapping has made him a butt of jokes yet at the same time there are complaints that no one is cheering the team on. Mikki ahas always been a lead cheerleader and there's nothing wrong with that.

The point of the thread, at least for most of us, was to congratulate him for that one good game, no more, no less.

On that one game I congratulate him then :)

He played very well, and the lack of rebounding was OK because he was energizing the team w/ his play.

I think any team with the Predator on it would always win because:

A) He can be invisible
B) I wouldn't want to try and post him up with those teeth and metal "claws" in my back
C) He'd threaten to blow up the arena with his mini-nuke any time his team "lost"

Actually of the three, he has letter A.... cause at times he gets invisible during games were we need him. :(

Luckily he showed up this time

I don't mean this to be putting down Mikki it was his best game thus far. But what i saw was a team getting great spacing and allowing him to be wide open in the lane for dunks. Now he only had 4 reb. Couldn't Justin Williams had dunked the ball just like that except get more rebounds??? Let me answer that for you. Last year agains the same San Antonio team Justin had 27 min and had 15pts and 10reb.

Simply put. Mikki did nothing any athletic big couldn't do except for only getting 4 reb in 30min.

Your signature tells the story, but I think what you're not realizing is games like this can help set the bar for guys like Justin Williams. Give him something to shoot for... If Justin's not out there, I think we can safely assume he's simply NOT putting forth the effort Reggie wants to see to give him more PT.

Theus is gonna go with the guys who work the hardest. I honestly think people have taken Justin Williams up to this place he has come nowhere near earning. He was an undrafted big who was cut, not picked up by anyone else and then salvaged by Petrie out of the D League. Don't get me wrong; I like Justin. I'm just not convinced starting him would do anything positive and might, in fact, do just the opposite and expose all his weaknesses.

If he's good, he'll get his shot. Until then, if Mikki and Brad can continue to contribute like they did last night, there's no reason to change horses.

I would like to see Williams get more minutes but last night Theus played the right players at the right time and we got to see some really good hoops.
