Mike Bibby's camp tommorow

Ya I read in the paper the other day that KG, Richard Jefferson, and Matt Barnes and others are supposed to stop by the camp.

Oh, the joys of being in America! Some of you don't know how lucky you are. Oh well, I'll be there in a few years.

Bibbilicious, what age group is that camp for? If you can share some pictures with us, do! Maybe some day I'll get the chance to get an autograph or picture! :)

hey, had my first day today, it was pretty cool, couldnt get many pictures cause i was busy in drills, keeping up with the rest of the 12th graders, some of these dudes are huge, and im just a 5' 8" 17 year old trying to guard some of these dudes... anyway my moms gonna bring the camera tommorow, she had it today but mike had his kids with him so he didnt have time to stay for autographs and stuff, but hes gonna be there every day so ive got plenty of time. we got a few pictures, but she didnt know how to auto focus, ill try to get some up tommorow, gonna see what players show up.

well its a fantasy basketball camp and it even says parents are invited too, but it was all set up from 1st to 12th grade, me just making the cut at 12th, parents watch pretty much.

yeah i had fun, good workout, great place too, i had been practicing basketball there for a few months before i knew about the camp and it just happened to be there so it worked out great. Mike was there to greet us and stuff when we got there and he walked around and watched all the groups throughout the day.

What age group would that be around? I'm not familiar with the different grades in America.

That would be about 6 years old to 18 years old.

In America, kindergarten is typically for kids about 5 years old. 1st grade is usually filled with 6-year olds, etc. Graduation from high school is after 12th grade, usually kids are 17-18 years old at that time.

Was Mike actually there ALL DAY? I've been hearing that he only stays a few minutes and then leaves and doesn't come back. I've heard disappointment from his camp that he doesn't stay very long and is pretty much a no-show at his own camp.

There was an article in the Bee a while back about his recognizing that criticism about past camps and that this year he was going to be there a lot more.

Ah, here it is:

Next week, Bibby will host the Mike Bibby Fantasy Camp at the Hardwood Palace in Rocklin. Bibby has held camps before, but the feedback from campers has not always been positive because Bibby appeared standoffish and sometimes left early. That's something Bibby said he regrets and hopes to change.

"I've told Mike that he has somewhat of a bad name in the community because of people who came to camps before with his name, and then they didn't like the way it was handled," said Archie, who will act as the camp director. "Personally, I don't believe all of that was Mike's fault, but some of it was. But something others who have not spent a lot of time around Mike might not know is, basically, he is a really introverted and shy guy.

"Mike is going to host the camp and will be there from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every day," Archie said. "He wanted to do something with a grass-roots organization and do something that is different."

Bibby said he expects Minnesota's Kevin Garnett, the Los Angeles Clippers' Sam Cassell, New Jersey's Richard Jefferson, free agent Matt Barnes and Golden State's Baron Davis and Stephen Jackson to appear at his camp. A number of Kings also are expected to participate.

no hes there all day, we all took individual pictures with him and we got to go with groups into a room and ask him questions, i asked if hes met the new coach yet and he said no. lets see, what else, oh yeah, he said that hed defidently like to retire with the kings but its not his choice, he said that he still practices but for now hes spending time with his family, next month hes really gonna pick it up and practice every day. francisco came in and so did bobby, both of them talked about how they got to the NBA and stuff and we almost got a one on one but bobby was wearing flip flops and didnt want to hurt his ankle or something. if you guys want to know about the rest of the questions just ask.

I have to get to that camp before I'm 18! I can't believe you get to see all those players! I'd be happy with an autograph, forget asking them questions and posing for photos :D

What's the standard like? Some pretty good players there?
