Mike Bibby

I know this is pointless, but I was bored so I decided to do some calculating
and I came up with this.

Heres what I got for Mike's stats after he comes back from the injury.

PPG/FG%/TO/3P%/SPG/APG
18.1/39%/1.2/37%/1.2/ 4.6

I dont expect these to be the stats. But I expect them to be close to these.
Keep in mind that I didn't take in the fact of the injury and how it will effect him,or the new coaching staff and what they foucus on.

So tell me if these look accurate or not.

Thank You!

yeah to assume ones stats is one thing but, to actually assume percentages is another. The injury shouldn't affect him because this year it is his non shooting hand instead of his right hand like last year.

I sure hope he comes out and shoots well. It might spur some trade talk by some desperate teams looking for a scoring option. There is no doubt that Bibby can help some of those playoff teams out there.

To just lay out the stats like that seems, IMO, pointless without having the derivation of the equations next to them. I can just say that Mike Bibby will come back and average 20 ppg and 7 apg on 50% shooting, no less, without any backup information, and "attempt" to pass it on as fact.

Why is it people who are bored think it's great fun to post totally meaningless inane comments?

OP - You did some calculating? I'd love to see your calculations. Pulling random numbers out of thin air - especially after admitting you didn't "take in the fact of the injury and how it will effect him,or the new coaching staff and what they foucus on" - isn't calculating. It's random guessing. And, even if you had taken "in the fact...," it wouldn't make it calculating.

What did you base the calculations on? Last years stats? I have no idea where you are getting these stats. It's fun to come up with stats, I love to do it too, but I usually say (when getting 15+ minutes) or (the last 8 games of the season were this, so assuming he got this many minutes we can predict ******)

To just guess and call it calculating is kind of funny imo.

ok what I did is I took all his season stats 98-07 and I found the difference of say points (Im just using points as an example I did the same thing with everything) and I found the difference for each season (Example:Say he averaged 10 points one season and 7 points the next, the difference would be -3) Then I would take all the differences for all the seasons(Ex -2,3,1
-4,2,-2,3,1) then I would average them together(Ex:0.5).then I would add that to his last year average(Ex: Last year 12 points This year estimates into 12.5)

Um, OK, but what exactly does that have anything to do with how he will perform when he returns?

Different players. Different coach. Different year.

You can "calculate" a whole bunch of things, but in a vacuum they mean nothing....
