Kings
out:

Dalembert
Landry
2011 1st
in:
J Nelson
Favors
T Murphy (expiring)

Denver
out:

Carmelo
in:
Earl Clark
Q Ross (expiring min contract to make salaries work)
Kings 2011 1st
2 NJ 1sts including their own 2011
14M trade exception (will get them under the tax line this year too)

New Jersey
out:

T. Murphy
Favors
Q Ross
2 1sts
in:
Carmelo
Brandon Bass

Orlando:
in:

Dalembert
Landry
out:
Bass
J. Nelson
E Clark

Kings:
Get 2 major talent starters and our starting lineup is finally solidified at Nelson, Tyreke, Casspi, Favors, Cousins. Outside shooting, ball movement, and defense should get a substantial boost.

Denver:
Gets former lotto pick Earl Clark + 2 high 2011 picks + another late first + tax relief to save them 20M this year. Hard to see them doing better than this if they want to rebuild.

New Jersey:
They are sending more or less what they are already offering Denver, just to different places. Get a solid PF in Bass to pair with Humphries for the time being.

Orlando:
Landry >> Bass plus they get Dalembert to put behind Dwight for their championship run. Arenas, Duhon, Reddick, and Richardson can hold down the guard positions just fine without Nelson.

I like it, but I disagree when you say Landry > Bass. I don't think Orlando downgrades at PF just to get a backup C, before their next 2 playoff runs (in which they need to go deep in order to try and keep D12 in two summers).

I´m not ready to give up our first round pick this year. Not if there´s just a little chance we end up with kyrie irving, who´s gonna be better than Nelson IMO.

Really Sarunas? Landry is definitely a better player than Bass. He just hasnt been playing well here because he has a head coach who cant decide if its tuesday or august. When put in the right system he will excel. He played well in Houston and played well for us last season. Also, there is no way Denver does this deal. Rumor had it they were asking for 5 picks so there is no way they take 3 picks and dont get at least favors. The only way i see a deal like this going down is if Favors also goes to Denver.

I think the key would be the positioning of the picks rather than quantity. A top 5 pick like ours is easily valued as 3 late round picks. Even then depending on the draft that will likely not do it. The promise of getting two top 5 picks would really give Denver a jump start on an immediate rebuild.

I wouldn't trade a first for Nelson, but a first for Nelson + Favors while getting rid of players we may not be resigning anyway seems like a solid value exchange.

I agree. I would pull the trigger on this one.

Really. The guys have almost the same stats this year, while Bass plays less minutes, and Bass trumps Landry in fg% and ft%. Not to mention Bass can actually jump off the ground. Both undersized PF's, but personally I'd take Bass, because defensively I think he's more capable than Landry who can't guard anyone. If anything its a wash, I can't see how Landry is clearly a better player. I don't think it would make a huge difference with either guy, but I don't see how Orlando gets better by giving up Bass and Nelson, and receiving Landry/Dalembert.

That's valid. And if Orlando sees it that way it's hard to see them going for this. Keep in mind though that when Landry was playing on Houston, a playoff team, with more weapons he was putting up much more efficient and higher numbers. You'd have to think he would look better on Orlando that Sac. I really believe that apples to apples, Landry would be far superior to Bass on that Orlando team with so many weapons.

The hangup would be that Melo won't agree to an extension with the nets so they wouldn't do it.

If that were true the Nets attempts would have been completely shut down over the summer...yet here we are 6 months later and rumors are constantly flying including them. Notice the Bobcats tried to get in on the Melo deal and apparently Melo said no way to an extension there. The Bobcats are no longer even being talked about. If Melo wouldn't even consider the Nets it's hard to believe the same wouldn't have happened already to them.

Favors has potential, but I think we have are good at 4&5 for now. With out #1 pick we have a chance at getting Kyrie Irving.

I'd do that deal in a hot minute. Kings get last year's #3 pick and a PG who's probably top 10-15 in the NBA and all they give up is this years (probably top 5) pick and two guys who probably would have been gone next year anyways.

I'm assuming Murphy would be just to take back an expiring contract and would not be resigned. And good at the 4? Surely you jest. Also, it's not Certain Irving will even be in the draft next year, so it's a big gamble.

If Orlando will trade J. Nelson, Bass and E. Clark for Sam and Carl I cut the other teams out and keep our first. Looks like this:
Kings
out:
Dalembert
Landry
in:
Bass
J. Nelson
E Clark

Orlando:
in:
Dalembert
Landry
out:
Bass
J. Nelson
E Clark

But I don't think Orlando does either deal because Nelson is too important to their success now AND in the future. But hey you could make the phone call if you were the GM:)

I'd rather trade Dalembert to Washington for Hinrich and Howard and send Landry somewhere in a different deal.

Yeah - I agree the Orlando part is the most questionable part of the deal. The certainly could use Dalembert and Landry. They are the right sort of win-now vets that would help them in the right places. They have major depth at guard so maybe they bite? But Nelson is liked there and a big part of who they have been for years now. Not sure if there is any other candy we could send their way. They're probably not interested in second round picks.

Hinrich and Howard are not impact players or clear starters over what we already have. More middling players and Westphal would come up with 38 new starting lineups using them before summer. I'd rather keep Dalembert and extend him.

Dalembert isn't a part of the future here, at least not in the way he wants. His usage right now is probably what his time here looks like, maybe even less depending on what happens with Hassan. Howard is crap and would expire this year, but Hinrich could be a great fit on this team. Not the most consistent shooter but a threat from outside, a good defender and passer. He could play easily next to Evans and Udrih and is clearly a much better option than Jeter. His contract is large but only has one year left after this one.

Throw Donte in the mix

I would send over Donte and Luther head over to Orlando too if they want them. Nelson and Cousins would make for an amazing pick and roll combo - plus losing Dalambert might get Whiteside a spot on our play roster, im still pretty anxious to see what that kid could do.
