Maurice Evans

Ok I know this is a little premature but, With the strong performances that Mo has been showing do you think that there is a chance of him taking the starter position from DC this year.

I know that he has really only played extended minutes in a few games, and
I do like DC as a player and what he brings to the team, but If Mo can continue to provide strong defense and provide at least 12 points a game that could really help the team out. The one criticism I have always had about DC is that he cannot score consistantly. I think the more minutes that Mo gets his scoring is just going to get higher.

I think that RA out of respect for DC will continue to keep him the starter and then bring in Mo off the bench. With Bobby being out I know that DC will be playing more minutes as PG, but I just wanted to get peoples thoughts on this..

Not a chance. With Bobby out the Kings are in need of some high energy off the bench and Mo is the one to bring it whereas Doug would not. That is only one of about 100 reasons why I think that there is no way that Mo will ever get the start over Doug.

I will just say that out of all the new players on the Kings this season, he was the first to catch my eye. Haven't seen enough of him, but he hasn't disappointed me yet.

He better not and he won't. He would get more minutes if he continues to perform like that, but I think that DC is going to be the starter till the end of the do more of PG as well. So more minutes for MO and Kevin as well, as many have already pointed out.

Again, here's the thing -- Doug is critical to our offense because of his passing ability. Mo doesn't pass. He's a finisher. Be interesting to see how this whole thing develops heading into next year, but I don't see us making a change that big amongst the starters mid-season. Entirely changes the mix.

There is a big difference between coming off the bench and playing a starting role. But what little we have seen of Maurice has been extremely impressive and hopefully he can continue to develop. Its a possibility but probably premature at this point.

mo evans, imo, is the absolute perfect off-the-bench kinda player for our team right now, and its for precisely the reason you stated: he's a finisher. one of the things i never liked about gerald wallace was that he had a lot of trouble finishing around the basket. if it wasnt a dunk, then the chances are that it didnt go in, regardless of how close to the basket he was. mo evans is a finisher, and when he's out there with bibby or webber or miller, he's gonna be on the receiving end of a lot of passes, cuz he loves to run the floor. he has also, from what i can tell right now, improved greatly upon his shooting. he doesnt have to hit the 28 contested footers that peja puts up (and makes ;)), but if he comes in, gives us energy, rebounds a bit, plays the hard defense he's been playing, and hits the open shot, he's gonna receive A LOT more PT. he's kindof our jack of all trades off the bench, minus the passing. i dig the guy.....and i think he could very easily make a name for himself in this league, provided he maintains a consistent work ethic. and, from the interviews with himself and his teammates, it sounds like he's bustin his chops to get out on the court. much respect for the former-scrub! ;)

First of all, Maurice is a BEAST!!!!!!!!!!! However, I think that his game might change were he not coming off the bench. DC is a proven starter, and, while he may not be a consistent scorer, all of the intangibles he brings to the court make him the better all around player. I also think his game may change if he WERE coming off the bench. Just my opinion.
