Marcus Williams

All-Star
Recently waived by the spurs. Should we attempt to pick him up and give more minutes to Evans at SG? (with garcia out) Our priority should remain on centers, but he is kind of the traditional point guard we want

Wrong Marcus Williams. The guy on the Spurs was the super-skinny do-nothing forward who spent one overhyped year at Arizona before going pro and falling flat.

The guy you're thinking about (with computer theft and other character issues that we passed over for Quincy Douby) is with Memphis.

There you go, beating me to it again. There was a time when I was quick on the draw.

you do know that they have pills that can help you with that... :D

but in all seriousness we still have sergio and beno... they can hold down the pg spot and allow evans to play backup sg until garcia gets healthy. then maybe we can somehow trade beno.

I'm off to light another candle at the trade Beno altar.. And, I don't need pills, just inspiration.:D

Jack of all trades, master of none type player--lacks a standout NBA trait. Underwhelming college career where he really struggled with quite a few guard attributes--three point shooting, passing, and stealing the ball, just to name a few. He did improve his passing slightly in the D-League, but he's largely the same player. His youth (22 years old) as well as the false perception that he can be converted into a PG, when he's actually a SF in disguise, will keep him afloat with training camp invites for the next couple of years, then he'll just fade away into obscurity afterwards.

Kinda makes you wonder if Petrie and the new Assnt GM might not cook up a trade in couple of months with one of our pieces and a draft choice for a good backup "big". Too early to speculate tho' but come January...........
