Marcus Thornton

What's so special about him again?

All I see is Stephen Jackson 2.0

If he was Stephen Jackson 2.0 he'd be considerably more special.

But right now he just looks lost. Role, coach, competition for shots, injury, all of it. After the first 2 weeks of the season just has not been an impact guy. But that guy is still in there. This is usage and confidence at this point. He's one of those guys who you could trade him to a team in need of what he brings and boom, he's be averaging 18ppg for them starting tommorow. Just so one dimensional in game and positon (can only play SG, can't swing either way) that it makes it hard. And our coach isn't one to figure out hard situations.

Stephen Jackson isn't special. You look at his peripheral stats besides ppg and you see he has simply a volume scorer.

No actually, he was selfish and stupid at times, but he could also create, play defense, and tough as nails character. Reason Pop has trusted him several times, and he's been able to fit in a winning system like that. I wouldn't want the guy anywhere aorund my team, but he's much more well rounded than Thornton. Can play both SG/SF credibly too. Or at least could through his prime.

As a longtime Thornton hater all I have to say is "I told you so".

Selfish, one dimensional, streaky, playing like crap cause he cant accept his bench role whowouldathunkit type of player.

Stephen Jackson has also played for numerous winning teams in his career, while MT has yet to play for a winning team.

I only wish! Just give me the 3 extra inches, and the defense!!!!

Never been a big fan of Stephen Jackson. All I ever saw from him was chucking up shots at a low percentage during his GSW years.

Jamaal Crawford a better example?

What's so special? Well, for one he could be this teams legit number 2/3 option and put up 20 ppg for you at only 7 million a year. That's if used correctly of course.

Yea, but it would take him 15-20 shots to do it while he ballhogs and ices everybody out. Don't forget all of his defensive lapses when he goes for the inevitable steal, but comes up short.

On a playoff team, he would be a 4th/5th option.

I say trade THornton for a defensive big. Jimmer can produce the same points if he took 15-20 shots a game.
