Can Peja play the 2? Here is how I think it is going to be:
5: Brad
4: SAR
3: Peja
2: Bonzi
1: Bibby
I realize that my lineup is no fun... but I just cannot see KT starting unless 1)SAR gets hurt, 2)SAR does not fit into the offense, or 3)KT plays THAT much better than SAR in the pre-season. Who is making more $$ KT or SAR?

Starting for the Kings and finishing the game could be either Thomas or SAR @ the 4. But besides that the other 4 spots are locked. Although everyone would get a good laugh out of seeing a 6'10" peja playing the 2. Then the flashback of peja trying to guard the likes of Kobe, TMac lol.

I think this would be decent against some teams. If Peja is going to play like he is 6'4, why not put him in a position suited for one who is 6'4. Ive always wanted RA to try to play Peja at the off gaurd, especially after he showed he could decently defend a player like Finley. This lessen the effects of Peja's glaring rebounding weakness.CaminoChaos said:

While I agree that Peja isn't quick enough for the to, or have enough ball handling skills for the to, he has been their best man to man defender. Now with Bonzi and Hart around that may change. He has been up until this point though.

Pedja at the 2 is nuts, might just as well roll a red carpet out into the paint. He is way to slow to keep up with the little guys on defense... might make for aome nice match up problems on the offense in the firts quarters untill the other team made defensive adjustments but loosing a quick gaurd with good handleing skills and a much needed inside game in roder to stack the front court tallent is no where near worth it. The starting line up seems prety clearly set for good reason... it amkes sense AND gives the Kings probably the best starting 5 in the league... if you all wnat an endless and not so pointless discussion then look at the bench, there are BIG questions and possiblites there. Do the Kings really want to back up brad with all 6'9" of Skinner? Would Skinner be a better replacement at the 4 than little Kenny? Is Kenny a better back up at the 3 and what do you do with Corless? Kevin or Cisco as primary BU at the 2? Now THOSE are good questions.

I think the only real battle in any of the starting positions is going to be at PF between SAR and KT. With that said I think it will turn out like this:
Bibby
Wells
Peja
SAR
Miller
Peja may be a decent on-the-ball defender, but putting him at SG would kill his offense. His struggles come against smaller quicker guys that don't have a problem running with him. I think Bonzi may be a better defender than him as well, or at least just as good, and a much better ball handler. Be interesting to see how/if this unit plays defense together.

We have seen Peja gaurd and do a pretty good job on T-Mac and Finely(couple years ago of coarse).
And for people who say someone can or can't because of there size just remind yourself about the Suns. People said there starting lineup was WAY to small but they found a way to win against bigger teams.

For the first time in the 16 years I've watched the Kings, there is real, I mean REAL, competition for a number of positions: PF among starters and the #2 and #3 backups for the 1 thru 4 positions. I assume Skinner is in as the 5 backup.
As Sam Amick said in the Bee, ".......... Which would explain why García and Stojakovic went toe-to-toe at one point, a friendly but fiery one-on-one matchup that gave Adelman an early look at whether his draft pick could handle his star." NOW THAT IS GREAT!! And Ailene said this morning in the Bee, "Healthy competition appears to be aiding and abetting Rick Adelman's anti-complacency campaign."
I've never heard the type of feedback we are getting from veterans the first day of camp before. I'm excited. Since 2002 I've haven't been really excited. My wife is excited for the Kings based on just one day of feedback.
