La Lakers @ Sacramento Kings

Yeah, whatever...

I've been a Kings fan since 1985. There is no freaking way on earth I would or could EVER root for the Lakers to beat our Kings.

I was just typing these words almost verbatim. I can't imagine for any reason on this planet that I would ever wish for my Kings to lose to the Lakers. Go Kings.

ok ok my bad! I guess any true fan couldn't possibly "root" for their team to lose against the Lakers. Sorry if I offended anyone. I wasn't thinking too much and my choice of words just slipped. With that said, I hope we can keep it close and possibly win. If we do lose i wouldn't be too disappointed also and I wouldn't mind a win :D

Yeah, whatever...

It's real easy to spout platitudes. I probably have a much better grasp of the bigger picture than you could possibly imagine but that's not the point. It's about pride tonight - playing on our home court against impossible odds, especially with Kev out for the game.

You do NOT root against your team in that situation. You can live with the probable loss because of the big picture but you don't actively root for it.

Second.

Like I said before, whether or not we lose or win this game, it doesn't increase the chances of getting the number 1 draft pick overall.

If we beat the Lakers, we'll still be in last place. And we have a quite a cushion (not that much though). One win wouldn't hurt our chances as long as we don't go on some winning streak. If your in last place, you have the same chance of getting the highest pick whether you have 1 win or 20 wins.

We don't have that cushion though, not really. If we lose, its good for us. if we win, with a game coming up against the Clippers -- that could easily be your whole lead gone just like that.

Of course its the Lakers, so coming out and bloodying them early is fun. But if they win in the end, we actually win too. I'm not sure we can "lose" tonight.

I hate Lakers 'fans' that live in Sacramento. They should all play in traffic.

If we beat the Lakers I could care less if we lose out the rest of the season. It will be worth it!

McCants should pass the ball more =\ I question his shot selection and wassup with Thompson barely getting any time during the second quarter. He was playing pretty well too. Natt is definitely goner.

If I'm not mistaken, Jason once again had two fouls fairly quickly. We're very sparse on bigs right now; I think they would rather have him burn his remaining fouls in the fourth quarter over the second.

:)

I like that Donte Greene is playing more.

Way to wait till 2 weeks left in the season Coach Natt...

I'm not too enthused about Greene. Seems like ALL he does is jack 3s. No rebounding, steals, passing, scoring inside. Just 3's. He blocks a shot here and there, but he doesnt seem any better at that then Cisco.

Doesnt seem like a great 3 to play alongside Mr. Onedimensionality himself at the 2. I mean, he's young and raw yes...But so is Anthony Randolph.

And WTG Natt. Smallball against the Lakers. That has to pay off.

I am beginning to feel the same way about Donte. I really really like this kid but he just hasn't shown much.

However, I also believe it is very important to keep things in perspective and realize that not too many rookies on a 16-60 team have had the type of rookie campaign that Greene has had!

From being traded, being sent to the NBDL, to sporadic minutes, two head coaches, all the losing, the prank fiasco... etc etc. The list goes on.

The atmosphere has not favored success for Greene.

I'm watching the game with the Lakers announcers (unfortunately I don't have a choice) and I don't think I've heard them once say that Kevin Martin is sitting out.

Also, before the game, I could have sworn the reporter on the court said the last time the Lakers were at Arco, the Kings won. But now its a different team after the trade deadline; they traded away Bibby and Artest.

Yea, there is only so much you can expect from the guy. I'm just glad he's getting some minutes. I almost feel like next season should count as Greene's rookie year.

I dunno....I feel like he isnt getting minutes for a reason. If his shot isnt falling (and it usually isnt) he needs to find a way to contribute. His statlines are usually pretty empty. Even for his limited minutes.

We'll see, maybe he'll put in some work and start showing some stuff next season.

Yes, hopefully. Like I said, I really like the kid and I think he has great potential and he can be great for team chemistry as well.
(As long as he stays away from vets' cars.. ;))

Donte definately has the physical tools...

...Its a shame to see him waste them spotting up behind the 3pt line. A think getting a legit coach in here would do him a world of good as well.

As an aside....I reaaaallly hope we get Rubio this draft. JT and Hawes will be dunking on fools nonstop if we get ourselves a playmaker of that caliber.

Edit: Nice move by Greene! Thats what I want to see more of!

This is hard to watch. All we're doing is walking up the floor and chucking up 3's. No discipline what so ever >.<
