It is pretty disgusting to think that the Kings could have had Klay playing SG with Cousins kicking out passes to him him on the wing.
Had the Kings drafted Curry over Evans it was actually quite possible the Kings could have had a lineup of Curry/Klay/Cousins. Imagine that lineup.....

This line of thinking is silly. If the Kings drafted Klay, he'd probably be out of the league right now. If the Kings were a better organization, Jimmer probably wouldn't have sucked so bad.

How is it silly? A huge chunk of this forum constantly bemoans the loss of Tyreke.
Klay Thompson would be out of the league....................... that's one of the stupidest statements I've ever read on this site. Granted he would likely be this good but when you can shoot like that and play defense like he does there is always a spot for you in this league.
Jimmer went to the Bulls and he still sucked.

Well to be fair Vivek did learn his basketball philosophies from his Daughter's team. Kings are not exactly running the front office from a high school level at this point, so 3rd grade defense is not that far off.

Someone scoring 37 points in a quarter could only happen to our Kings, just like our record losing streak on the road in 1991 (which I believe is still in tact).
Over the years, I also recall the Kings only scoring 59 points against the Charlotte Hornets and only 4 points (1 FG) against the Lakers in the 1st quarter. Both were records at the time.
I wish we could be on the positive end of these things for once.

To be fair the Kings had a hand in the face of the player on most of those shots. I really couldn't believe how they where draining threes like that. We made a game of it. Actually had a lead for a bit. Then Clay opens up for 37 pints. It was absurd. Now I know what it was like to the other teams when the Niners had all those record games over the years. Sucks being a fan of the OTHER team!

Had the Kings drafted Klay? Either he is already traded or never reached his potential. I imagine a softy one dimensional spot up shooter. Just look at Stauskas. Warriors was able to build and players exceeding potential with Curry now an MVP candidate, Klay, Barnes, Green, Ezeli even that kid Holiday looks way better than Stauskas now. Kings aren't that good at developing talent and confidence. Jimmer, Robinson, Hawes, Thompson, Whiteside, etc. Tyreke was good then sucked, hopefully Cousins won't follow suit.

Well yeah, Klay was absolutely unguardable.
But the Kings kept running down the other end and jacking shots for no reason.
DMC was a freakin jump shooter all night. He hit at a good rate but keeping him up top stopped us from getting boards and also cleared the lane for the rest of our players to (stupidly) drive in for wild layups which they invariably missed.
The stupidity of the way our offense was run is what gave Klay 13 looks. Him hitting each and every one is all on whatever ethereal spirit possessed him for that quarter. FFS we had the ball with what, 20 seconds left and STILL gave it back to Klay for another 2

The Cuz outside thing though also has something to do in this game with that Bogut guy. In general I agree, this is Keith Smart offense, and Cuz's percentages have plummeted because of it. But against Bogut? Cuz was right where he should have been until that jumper stopped working.

Why break tradition, we drafted Joe Kleine over Karl Malone, and Kenny Smith over Kevin Johnson. To be fair, as far as Thompson goes. he actually got drafted higher than he was projected. If the Warriors thought he was going to be as good as he turned out to be, they were the only one's at the time. I don't remember many people on this forum, including myself, yearning for the Kings to draft Thompson. The consensus was for Kawhi Leonard. I preferred him, but I was also sure that he Kings were going to draft Fredette. And to be honest, I thought he would be a much better player than he turned out to be, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Just about everyone knew he would struggle defensively, but not offensively.
But, the draft isn't an exact science, especially in a down year. There are years when you know a certain player is going to be good. I was absolutely positive that Cousins was going to be a stud. I knew Evans was going to be a very good player, maybe a star. Fredette? Not so much! Hey, Biyombo was drafted at seven that year, and he's pretty much a bust. Derrick Williams was at number two. At the same time, Leonard was drafted at fifteen, Vucevic at sixteen, Reggie Jackson at twenty four, and Jimmy Butler, than everyone passed on was drafted at number thirty. So did the Kings make a mistake? Yes! But they weren't the only one's.

I remember Rick Barry talking about defenders, and saying that just about every star in the league has that one player he just hates to play against. They just seem to have your number. In may cases it's not even a star player, but a player that matches up well against you. He said that player never kept him from getting his points, but he made life miserable for him and he had to work a lot harder to get them.
Here's my take on the King's drafting. Remember, 10 other teams passed on Klay Thompson too. Every team in the NBA has hits or misses in the draft. BUT I believe that the Kings are not the best in developing players. The Kings have not had the opportunity of depth nor winning to bring players in slowly. That's what a lot of other teams do. Even Thompson was a reserve in his 1st year behind Ellis.
The PT we see Nik getting is the same PT we would've seen him get on 20 other teams. He's really raw in terms of all aspects of his game.
I was one of the people advocating for Klay Thompson(not here, but in general), but I was ok with the Jimmer pick. Who the heck knew he would've been such a bust in the NBA? Thompson's progression as a player is due to his development by GSW.
Who knows what would have happened IF the Kings did draft him. One thing is for sure, he wouldn't be the same player he is today. Best SG and shooter in the NBA.

His jumper was wet tonight and that is a valuable weapon, especially against good post defenders. But that's sort of missing my point:
1. We did the exact same thing against the Nets and failed just as hard;
2. This was clearly not about "respecting" Bogut since Corbin had the rest of the team trying to run a lay-up drill directly at him;
3. Cousins is unquestionably one of the best post players in the league, if not THE best, and he has, throughout his career, exerted his will against all the other "best post defenders" around - that is, when he is given the proper time and spacing to operate. Getting cute and playing away from your strengths is always a bad idea, and an even worse one when your strength is DeMarcus F. Cousins; and
4. Ignoring the issues of the scoring element of our offense, he was constantly out of position to rebound or otherwise facilitate the offense.
The Cuz jumper is good for keeping defenses off balance and exploiting the Fear of Boogie to get cheap easy points.
The Down-Low Boogie Show is good for crushing your enemies, seeing them driven before you, and hearing the lamentations of their women.
