I don't see the correlation. It seems like the Kings have a habit of playing to the level of their competition, no matter how good or bad that team may be. Obviously I hope we win tonight, and I would love it if it was a blow out, but I don't think that how we play against Golden State has anything to do with how we'll play come playoff time.
The correlation is that the best team in the league (The Spurs) would win this game by at least 10 without Duncan, Bowen & Parker. No more of that playing to the level of their competition junk. The Spurs didnt show any remorse against the Sonics when Allen wasnt playing. Thats the way it should be. If they have 2 of their 5 starters then they should still win by 5 or so. Has anyone seen Golden States record?

Actually the Spurs would be in a lot of trouble without Duncan, Manu and Parker. But unlike some teams, they rarely seem to have to worry about that.

Some fans of this team can only have a bipolar bent when assessing this team. Sunday they are the greatest. Wednessday before the game the sky is falling...I wonder what these type of fans would have done in the late 80's, early 90's.

Well the mix consisted of Bowen not Manu. Anyway, by progress in the playoffs I mean winning it all. Going out in the 2nd round is gettin kinda old.

My guess would be floating around as DNA samples in the gene pool of their parents.

Actually, Im hard on the Kings even when they win. I think they should have won by more. Thats not going against my team thats just knowing the Caliber of players that the Kings have and feeling that they should kick butt most of the time.

Oh, so they get to CHOOSE which players they do without in your little scenario?
The Golden State Warriors may have a poor record, but they ARE an NBA team and as such, are a threat.

Yeah especially since Clifford isn't playing. Does anybody know if anybody else is out for the Golden State Warroirs?
Read a few posts above your's. ;)

Blowout or not, all that matters is the W. People don't remember you by how many you win by, they only look at the W and L column.

Ostertag IS an NBA player but I dont really see many teams "threatened" by him. Bottom line a championship caliber team even with some stars missing should not lose to the Warriors.

Maybe its just me, but that would take the fun out of watching my Kings play.

I live in Berkeley. Anyone know if any of the local bay area channel is broadcasting this game?
I don't live in the Bay Area so I'm not 100% sure. But where I live, they carry Warriors games. It should be on FOX SPORT NETS.

Well, to your first point, you DO realize that missing 'some' of our stars has reduced us to depending on the likes of the player you just maligned, right?
Also you do realize that even the BEST teams lose games, right?

How I cheer on my team has no baring on how far they go in the playoffs.
I can do 2 things at the same time. I can cheer and still be observant and think they could have done better. Being critical has nothing to do with cheering.

Well, some stars missing = our two leading scorers and our 6th man. (if Webb and Peja both sit out). In fact, easily our three most prolific per minute scorers.

In fact if before the current season began, you told me that our current healthy roster was going to be the team for the year, how many games would we realistically win? 40? Maybe? And that's with everybody healthy.

Well, since it is a given that over the course of a 48 minute game and an 82 game season that there will always be something they could have done 'better' at least you will keep yourself entertained, miserable, it sounds like, but occupied nonetheless;)

OK, being critical has no baring on how far my team will go in the playoffs, therefore I choose to enjoy my Kings and not place my expectations through the ceiling.

Actually even with Web/Peja gone Tag has barely played so nobody is relying on him. Furthermore, losing and losing to crappy teams is totally different. Im not saying anything about the loss to the Spurs because they are a great team and the Kings busted their butt and lost by 10.

The real question is who the hell is going to play tonight? I heard Mobley might sit too on the radio.

You gotta be kidding me. Having them beat the Warriors is having high expectations?

Gulp.

It is amazing isn't it? We should name this phenomenon -- wow, stay away from that team, its caught Sacramentitis!!

Being critical is fine -- sometimes that gets lost on here. But there's realism too. If Mobley is out as well, the Warriors will actually be fielding the more talented team. We can still win. In fact I still expect us too. But we're down so much talent that if we don't I'm not going to be mad at the team or anything. NOBODY wins consistently with their top THREE scorers all gone (as well as their 6th man).

You expect the Kings to win every games, should win to any bad teams, and win a title 'coz you are tired of 2nd round exit. Right?

You are not a Kingsfan!

Agreed if Mobley is out too.
