Maybe, but 9 APG is not just something you "wish for" as Pistol Pete said about getting to NBA and having impact.
Don't get me wrong, I love the guy, but the 9 assists can be misleading as he played for the Hornets, where he was asked to do everything, he played 34 MPG, had the ball in his hands all the time, and took almost 14 shots per game

  • Ben Mclemore really looks like he belongs in the NBA really liked what he bought first time he's impressed me
  • Cousins shot selection was awful but his defence was actually very good and he drew fouls but yeah if he ever starts using his half hook he will be mighty efficient
  • Patterson has to start, money shooter, solid D and IQ has to be a starter
  • Salmons should never play again I rather see Thornton and M16 on the floor with M16 @SF if they are not going to play LMAM
  • Lack of playmaking killed us again need Vasquez

Overall solid effort just got to play a bit smarter in particular Cuz and MT.

McCallum is not going to start, but he is going to make someone expendable. Be it IT or Vasquez. Probably spells the end of Jimmer as well, unless Jimmer can play SG effectively.

I can see McLemore pushing for a starting spot if he stays as active as he was tonight. His off the ball movement puts pressure on the D.

The whole team was TO happy tonight, so I'm not really going to put too much blame on IT for that. Those should hopefully clean up as we get more comfortable on offense.

I thought IT played a good PG tonight. He was looking for shooters and he really was feeding Cousins the ball every opportunity he could. Of his 11 shots, I'd say 8 of them were shots you want him taking. Cut down the TO's and 15-6-3 on 54% shooting sounds pretty darn good from IT

i think bmac played really well, his stroke was there and he looked good coming off of screens... *please start vasquez and ben*...ray looked ok(especially with tony douglas on him most of the time) bt he did have trouble after he drove into the lane(and hit ur FTs please)...luc and john were unimpressive(WE NEED A SF!) ...i liked that we found cuz in the post a lot..he just needs a move or two down there with his back to the basket...outlaw our best SF???lol...and where is jimmer!

Ray has said in interviews how much different (harder) the NBA game is in regards to his ability to get to the rim and finish. Hopefully it is something he improves on, and I don't see why he can't. His ability to draw fouls while penetrating is impressive for a rookie. And I agree with you PLZ PLZ PLZ hit ur FTs!

I think he played a good PG for the first half off his minutes, but then he vanished when it counted

Yea... with Thornton and McLemore I agree that Jimmers days are numbered.

meh... not really a fan of his game. He dribbles to much without setting anything up. I feel similar about IT. Im excited to see a refreshing change with Vasquez's passing abilities.

I think Malone wanted IT and Ray to pound the ball. Part of the slower pace, defensive style he is preaching. It held the Warriors in check for a half.

Well, the whole team vanished. Again, something that will clean up once we get more comfortable playing with one another. We had probaby 6 or 7 TOs simply because we had someone penetrate and the other guy wasn't in the right spot to receive the pass

M16, is this a thing?

We're on same page essentially. Those 14 shots per game turned into 14 PPG average as well. I don't think (basically know) that Vasquez operating at PG won't be an issue in setting up nicely Kings more often than not high scoring offense. It will only be his D - although he's a team D structure kind of guy. But I could say same or worse about IT - as far as questionable D. I'd rather have 6'6" instead of constantly shot over top 5'9" - everyday.

Rather than read through the thread, why didn't GV play?

Bringing him back slowly. From what I have heard he is going full tilt in practice but may sit out til the regular season to give him as much reset as possible after off-season surgery.

Agreed

Thanks.. I though he would get some pre-season action. I assume if he doesn't go at all in pre-season then we will see IT starting.

That is my feeling as well, I can't see him starting without haven played at least some minutes in preseason

Maybe i need to re-watch it, but i felt like i just saw him dribbling around very erratically and pounding the ball too much expecting something to happen.

Rewatch it and keep in mind it was his very first NBA game. Sure, there were times when he tried a little too hard, but for the most part he showed a lot of potential and a pretty good court sense.

The only player who looked out of place tonight, to me, was Chuck Hayes. Just kind of a body out there who doesn't seem to offer too much.

Why did my boy Jimmer didn't play? :(

I really liked the defense! Much much improved. Also the offensive flow is improved. If not for some turnovers and Warriors hitting their shots, Kings would have won this game. Also, I think M.Jackson really wanted to win this game, bringing in Curry, Bogut and Iggy 8 mins left in the 4th, while the Kings obviously are playing the 2nd stringers/rookies to get some exposure.

Also, Patterson i think is our 4 guy, he is a good stretch 4 to open up the the middle for Cousins.

Didn't see the game but glad to see the rookies apparently doing well.. I've said all along Ray Mac is going to be one of the best 2nd rounders by a margin in this years draft. Good to see Ben shooting a good %

What I liked, was how Ben got those shots. Only 1 force comes to mind, but he was getting open in rhythm of the offense and just catching and shooting or with 1 dribble.
