Bens' rookieitis

New guy's 10-dayitis

With all the new guys, it's hard to be coherent on offense

Terrible team effort getting back on D

Stupid-a$$ turnovers

Rudy Gay?

Still too much standing around; it seems like a design of the offense; and I believe it is in part because of all the new guys the coach is going more to iso; offense is timing and there isn't much timing except maybe the IT/Cousins connection, which has the benefit now of a few years of getting to know each other

When you have this much turnover on your roster with so little coaching time it's going to be very difficult to win unless the guys you get are very experienced.

Are you feeling optimistic and hopefully because of something Adelman said during the interview? And if so, what exactly did he say?

They only showed about 2 seconds as they came back from commercial. (I think Kayte was interviewing him but I'm not sure.) Adelman was saying something about how the Kings were giving the Wolves fits in the first half and they had to adjust their defense. Then, before anything else could be said, the coverage switched back to Grant and Jerry.

Not gonna shoot you but I'll be honest and say I'm disappointed. Why would you say something like this now? "Oh, hey. Look at me. I picked against our own team and guess what? I was right..."

Whatever, dude.

Being right is more important than being a fan who sees the team through purple colored glasses. That is what the statement means. Now I might have thought we would lose but I wouldn't come back and say anything or at least I hope I wouldn't. With Martin and Pek back, we had little chance.

Oh, ok, so it was game related. Based on your comments, I thought he had said something about the franchise as a whole, and the new ownership group and the change in culture, etc....I miss the Adelman years. If only we had a slightly better defense back then....

I apologize to you all. I should not have said what I said. Better yet, I shoulda been more clear about what I had said to begin with. I love this freaking team, and I know all of you do as well. I hate seeing this team play like this. I wanna win. Hang in there, peepz, we will be back. And when we do, it will be a darn good ride!!!! Please don't hate me any longer...

If I were making a list of reasons that Tyreke's career hasn't worked out as planned, I think it would look more like this:

1. Terrible jumpshot
2. Glass ankles
3. Not a true distributor
4. Keith Smart
5. Paul Westphal
6. Getting jerked around between PG, SG, and SF
.
.
.
n-1. Getting caught going 100+ on the freeway
n. The 20-5-5 hype
Funny, I personally see it more like:

I will continue to say that Evans' jumpshot is not, necessarily, holding him back. A jumpshot is the difference between him being very good and great, it's not the difference between him being good and bad. My hatred of "stretch" bigs are well documented, but if there's any player in the league that benefits greatly from one, it's him. Let Evans play alongside a Kevin Love, or a Chris Bosh, or a healthy Ryan Anderson, and he's close to elite, even without a jump shot.

Your groveling is happily accepted and I suspect anyone on this forum as long as you have been is a great fan. I hope we all can start with that as the default position. I like being right also. :)

My point of contention, of course, was not the jump shot. The point was that the "20-5-5 gimmick may have ruined Evans' career" was really stretching it.

So essentially, Evans sucking is everyone else's fault?

How do you know he's "going for stats" and not simply trying to play his game to help us try to win? He's a scorer, he's going to shoot a lot. If he doesn't, he won't have as high a value for us
I just see stuff that isn't in the context of team offense at times personally. Contested shots, shots with multiple defenders, not giving it up on the break, not looking for teammates while headed to the cup. It's to the point when he has the ball on the peremiter when I believe I know when he is going up with the shot. For awhile into the 2nd quarter he had as many looks as IT and Cuz put together and neither seemed to be featured.
IMO it hurts us if he finishes the season with stats as it puts him in a better position to bargain or leave.
This is opinion I understand if others feel different

I find it hard to be terribly critical of any player introduced to this team after the beginning of the season. Part of what helps a team is cohesion. Cohesion can't come if there is no practice time or even the time that comes from years together. We have very little of that if any. We even had a guy on a 10 day contract (not 10 game) who is fighting for his NBA career.

Who are the guys who have been with this team since preseason? Heck even Landry is like a rookie on this team and now he is injured again. Talk about unreliable.

I have more hope after this game than I've had in a month or so. Ray looks like a PG. His movements seemed predictable to me and his team mates which is remarkable considering his minutes on the court with this team can be measured in hours. I think the team is less dependent on IT and I think that is a big deal. It is a big deal to me so in some ways I don't care what the team or other people think. I have a selfish desire to enjoy this team.

Boogie was not the out of control horrible bad boy that people want punished. Rudy looks indispensable and I'm not going to quibble about WHEN he got his points or that he missed an easy shot. In the long term, it is not important. I like the mini-bruise brothers, Acy and Evans although Evans is far better than Acy. There's hope and until I saw Evans and Ray play tonight, I wasn't that confident. Now I see what they are capable of.

BTW, when Evans flew in from the arc to get that one rebound I wondered why other people didn't do that. He had it in his mind the shot wasn't going in. He didn't wait until the shot either went in or didn't before he made a move. That's not very tricky but no one else on our team is like that.

This is actually a massive problem for us a lot of our players IT (been way better as of late), Gay, Cousins and Mclemore literally never or rarely give the ball up on the break, Marcus Thornton was actually one of the few who did when he had a wide open lay up try to set someone else up (which is surprising). Our team in general is one of the worst I have seen in that regard we make the odd crazy alley hoop play but our basics at running a fastbreak are shocking.
