Can someone please explain me why every time we have to use the 24 seconds, the guy with the ball waits 20 secs before starting the play? I really don't get it. Every time they run out of time and they can't create a good shot. Just start the play with 8 or 9 secs left!!!

Well you don't want to go too early and leave them enough time to score back at you. But on that particular play what I was concerend with were the other 4 players. They looked completely confused and everybody was running into each other in a clump down under the hoop right up until the shot was taken. Was kind of like a baskeball parody.

It's true, but usually in that situation you should start with at least 8 seconds left. So you have the chance to play a pick and roll and eventually find a guy on the perimeter. If you start with 4 seconds, you can't even create a good shot.
