We used to get caned in Highschool (Bombay) if any rules were broken, it wasn't very pleasant.

There was that one Yank teen who got caned in Thailand in 1994. He was caught doing something otherwise stupid. I think he was setting off car alarms. I can't believe some people over here were actually against it too.
