I think we have to realize that there are no easy games in the NBA. In order to be good we have to beat good teams. These teams are either playoff teams or up and coming teams. There is maybe 2 tankers and we may be one of them soon

why did the scheduling gods have to be so cruel. 3-9 really is a best case at this point to open the season and I feel like these guys are improved over last year and at least deserve something positive to be said :(
Warriors 3x, LAC, Grizzlies, Heat 2x, Cavs and a vastly improved Blazers team for 9 of their first 11 games truly is a bloodbath schedule. If the Kings can beat the Hornets, Magic, Lakers, steal one vs the Heat and escape this start 4-7, you might still have something on the season.

That's Mitchell and Okpala though and Mitchell is still getting pinched on screens too. You have to switch, the rules basically make it impossible not to and every team does it now. If you lack length and size you unfortunately have to play way into the offensive player then. Like Fox has been doing. Attack the dribble and disrupt passing lanes by playing way up into them. They are letting guards peak around those screens and get wide open. The other night they never even forced Curry to drive the lane until the came back in late.
They are definitely not attacking on defense. With few exceptions it seemed like Memphis was very comfortable out there getting to their spots. And when they really needed a basket the Kings had nobody in the paint to make them think twice about taking their man in the paint for a comfortable 12 ft jumper.

Yeah the good thing about having to go through this schedule now is that we're eventually going to get to a stretch in December/January where we literally have nothing but games against the Rockets, Spurs, and Lakers.

She is an incessant blatherer. I've never heard an announcer talk so much and say so little. I've had to turn down the volume nearly entirely to endure it. Turning on the radio to listen to Gerould just doesn't work because of the time delay.
If you don't like Christensen as an announcer, that's your prerogative, but I can't let this slide: Jerry Reynolds was literally still the color commentator four years ago.

But Reynolds was at least amusing. Christensen is painful to listen to. My wife, who is not much of a Kings' fan, can't stand her. If they hired her to get more women to watch the Kings I doubt it's working.

It's a question of surviving emotionally, mentally and win percentage-wise until the easier schedule begins.
Yeah but I have to say that given a choice between this situation where we have to scratch and claw our way up to respectability or the way we started last season (starting 6-4 but only because we got to beat a struggling Pelicans team twice and accidentally hit a buzzer beater against the Suns), I'd probably still choose last year's start.

Don't get me started on that!:D Especially when Brooks was the 45th pick in the draft. And Bane was #30.
well and Herb Jones was 35. He could have been a needed 3 and D wing.

we are getting far enough out we can start to have a reasonable review of Monte’s performance….

Hali was a great pick but trading away the 2nds for Wright and Richardson was poor. The Hali for Domas trade is not looking good.

Davion is looking like a poor pick with Primo, Moody and Murphy all on the board and the Kings being short wings. A small defensive point guard who doesn’t contribute on offense should be a 2nd Round pick.

Keegan was a slam dunk pick but again we got nothing we a valuable 2nd round pick. With our questionable bench we could have used a player.

not sure you can give better than a C when you look at the totality.

Our real test will be against the Orlando magics. Oh god I already see the outrage if we lose that one.
Game 3 of a 4 game road trip. At least we have a few nights off and only travel from Miami to get there, but it's not exactly a layup even though they are also winless. Will be nice to see battle of early ROtY favorites, although I bet officiating will be an issue in this game.

That, again, is your prerogative. And a not-insignificant number of people seem to agree with you. I am quite happy that he's gone, and the ginger, too.
Grant seems like a miserable human but I enjoyed the way he called a game.

I'm mostly neutral on Kayte - she'll say some real head scratchers but can also be insightful (is someone in her ear to do the former, is it a bit?), but apparently even bothering to spell her name correctly is too much to ask out of some.

Only one of the two played professional basketball. (Hint: It wasn't Jerry)
You honestly think that matters? Seems she forgot all about basketball with the way she calls games. She dam sure forgets who she works for.

Thats litterally the only names I've been hearing out here mouth as far as can do no wrong. It's freakin irritating. She was litteraly calling Dame Time in the 4th

Speaking from experience, there are people in most sports commentators ears much more than people probably realize.

90% of what gets said or skipped in a TV broadcast is entirely down to a spotter/producer's whims.
