I was thinking the same thing, if we end up with a big winning streak without Martin it brings back memories of 2004 when C-webb returned and ruined the team chemistry. Granted, C-webb was crippled when he returned and presumably Martin won't, but just sayin.

Too much overthinking, I guess.

Let's drink some beer and enjoy this win for now.

They can both do their thing and they can both have a TON of weight off their shoulders.

What does this do to Martin?

Yep, a lot less pressure on Beno as he can just do his clever and crafty thing w/o looking over his shoulder (to use recent a KMart expression about how he feels under Coach W).

Meanwhile, Martin can just watch Kings continue to gel over the next couple of months and when he gets back blend in with lots less pressure on him. Maybe he will only need to play around 25 min a night going forward instead of his usual 40+.

Tonight, two of the top three in total minutes were not starters but Omri (36min) and Udoka (33min). Beno (34min) ended up with more than Tyreke (28min).

I guess we have to "wait and see" and gauge how well the team does without Martin... See if it's players playing above their level to make up for KMarts absence or do they actually play better without him..

It's funny though how things work. You have a borderline all-star in Martin and you think the team gets worse without him but it gets better.. Goes to show you that chemistry means more than loading up on talent... Ask the Clippers.

with marin and kenny out plus shareefs and mikkis salary out. We would have 26 million in the off season to make a move.

I have a quick question... How come when ESPN run there articles about who has cap space next season they never mention us? Is it because they don't think we will spend any money, or don't we actually have any cap space if the roster stays as is (next season)?

Great team game tonight, it was quite amazing when i looked at the box score to see all the stats we had and winners all over the court. Hopefully this continues. Keep it up boys!

This team is playing extremely well without K-Mart, and if they continue to play THIS good, I'd like to see K-Mart get in the game off the bench when he comes back. Just a thought, I don't know if that would make any difference though, tough to say..

I wouldn't TRADE him though..at least not yet

I love the way this team is coming together. I see the teamwork and togetherness and I'm loving it! We have some work to do but it's a great start...Donte and Omri together and I love the way they play together...Tyreke! Beno is playing much much better.

It's great to hear that these guys are also hanging together off the court.

Dooooonnnnnntteeeee! It looks like it's finally coming together. Keep building on it!

We need to see more of Brockman. That was a sick jump at the end of the 4th.

I was just looking at the standings on NBA.com, and I would just like to point out that if the season ended today, your Sacramento Kings would be the 8th seed in the west.

My sister just came back from the game and said that there was a pretty bad FIGHT in ARCO after the game. It was a bunch of Warriors fans fighting some Kings fans. Even WOMEN were throwing punches. About 15 minutes after the fight started, the cops showed up, made some arrests, and etc etc.

Anyone who was at the game saw why the fight broke off?

NOTE: In case anyone is wondering, I moved the portions of the thread that had become a "Trade Martin" discussion into their own thread in the "Personnel Moves" section since that discussion will go on for at least 8 weeks and this thread will be closed and moved to the game archives before the next game.

I've been really afraid of something like this. And this is the LAST thing the organization needs. An exciting young team just starting to ignite interest and it's the fight that will undoubtedly lead the late news.

Seriously, just when things start getting exciting, some dumb fans have to start some idiotic crap. Those people need to grow up.

Hopefully it won't make the news though, as it happened in the hall, not anywhere around the court.

The bad thing is it was probably Warriors fans, itching for a fight because they really expected to walk into Arco and walk out with another win much like last season. They did not expect to lose... And if you saw Jackson's face on the bench that had to be reflective of how his fans in the stands were feeling.

I'm watching the news on 13 and recording the news on 40. If they have anything, I'll post it.

As I was shooting the game (pictures to be posted later) I just HAD to comment to those around me - Nelly showed absolutely zero emotion tonight. And that was even during calls against the Warriors.

Maybe he's into meditation now? Guess that high blood pressure medication really works!

I really think that Nelly wants to get fired. That way he can get paid and not do "this" anymore. He just hasn't been there since last year. So glad we don't have to deal with him.

i think we found a coach.!!

that was the most fun ive had watchin kings ball in years.!!

great team ball, minutes spread out to the whole team.!!

Rookies look amazing.!!

Donte realizing he can get to the rack!!!

We have a beautiful young nucleus and a coach to grow with them.
Its a great time to be a kings fan.:D

I actually second this entire post. Yes. I do.

Thats what I'm thinking. Kings fans are some of the most passionate about their team, but they are also alot classier than fans of alot of other teams fans (see most lakers fans). Not to say a buttload of beer pretty much throws class out the window, but, if its as big as a fight as the one stated, I'm sure their was more to it than alchohal.

Do you think teams are being thrown off with a lot of new faces and contributions? I'm sure the Warriors weren't going into this game expecting a Casspi and Greene duo destroying them from off the bench. I'm just excited for everyone stepping their game. I think we owe OKC a little revenge from the whooping they handed us in the opening game.

I watched all the late newscasts and it wasn't mentioned so hopefully it won't get blown out of proportion and negate all the good feelings fans have been having the past couple of days.

Always, and when adjustemnts are made and we are recognized as a threat, things will get harder. I'm sure Reke in particualr has got defensive assistants all over the league doodling up ways to stop him when we meet them,, and he's going to have to adapt to the attention. But the Warriros in particular are just a dead franchise. They don't prepare for anybody, and most nights they barely try. The roster is ridiculous, the coach is burned out and coasting, and the chemistry is broken. So doubt we particularly surprised them tonight -- they hardly care.

I don't think I've ever seen a player look so disconnected, disinterested and vacuous as I saw Stephen Jackson look tonight. It was pretty clear he had totally checked out. That's abysmal.
