I know it's preseason but this team couldn't possibly have made me less interested in the season than they have with their level of play so far.

Without Keegan, it's going to be a very tough opening stretch. I wouldn't be surprised to see malaise set in early with this team, Westbrook's arrival notwithstanding. The Kings' offense will come and go. The defense will be what it is and Doug will stop yammering about 94 feet. Mostly, I'm looking at a .400 basketball team with so little creative energy that they start Dario Saric in a pre-season game and can't find a way to put their defensively-minded second-year player on the court.

Is there any chatter on this, or just your own speculation? Third year option had to be picked up within the next few days anyway, it's not like Carter was going to be 2-and-out.
Pure speculation, although I have read columns that name Carter as "Most Likely to Be Traded." If he does not play at all in the second half, that will fuel further speculation.

Given that the flu has apparently been going around the team, it might just be him being under the weather

I love the notion too that Carter would somehow "hold up" an offense that has 40 points at half

I just don't get the idea that a G league PG should be getting that first call in the pinch. Like, what the heck is that? They are way too deeply looking at PG as some type of issue. The issues are clearly much bigger than that Scott.

It just shows a shocking lack of imagination from Christie and his staff, especially since there's no world in which Saric starting keeps you competitive.
I fear you hit the nail on the head. There are a lot of things I like about Doug Christie, but thinking outside the box does not seem to be a strong point.

Do we see a different rotation this half?

I think there will be a little more fight in the next half. The Kings have to start accepting that they aren't going to be a team that 100% of the time is moving the ball like the Globetrotters and is instead kind of a plodding half court pick and roll team. When the flow is there it'll be there but this oddball roster is always going to be oddball.

Keon and Domas both surprisingly rusty in the preseason. And there's a reason one of them is so frequently open at the three point line.

I mean, it's undeniably a problem that they're a team full of guards who are secondary creators with, like, only two ball handlers/initiators in the bunch. And those two were off-season acquisitions. And one of them is 37 years old and has yet to suit up with his new teammates. But still, I agree. They've decided the problem with this Kings roster is POINT GUARD!!!11!1!!!1!! And not, you know, the fact that they want to play 94 feet of defense with almost no defenders capable of doing so.

Is it the one who hit 41.7% from three last year or the one who hit 43.3% from three last year? I'm not sure which you're talking about.
