our best game of the whole season and we found a way to lose once again sigh...
Lebron was an absolute beast though singlehandedly winning a game for them
so how has nocioni played? i dont get to watch kings games because i live in los angeles and i cant afford league pass thi season. is he worth his contract? 12/9 tonight seems okay kinda since i havent seen much of him. lebron scored 51 so i dont know what to say about his defense...
Anybody else deeply disturbed by Martin's last attempt in regulation? I knew he was now completely focused on drawing fouls near the basket, but has the mentality set in at the 3 point line too? While we're at it, why is the one player on our team that does not have the ability to make a play for himself and shoot a J off the dribble doing precisely that? Good result for us, don't get me wrong, but are we just trying to prove the obvious or what?
His final attempt was the same as all the other failures he's had this year in that situation -- an attempt to draw a foul instead of an attempt to get off the shot. He seems rather dim. The refs don't call that. Won't call that. And aren't about to start calling that.
The best thing that can happen to us right now is to beat the Lakers on April 7th and ruin their chances for Home Court against the Cavs in the playoffs....what sweet revenge it would be.
He caught the ball with 3 seconds to go moving away from the basket. LBJ was all over him, he tried a pump fake to get room and didn't work. It didn't look like he was going for the foul. There wasn't much time to do anything else the way he got the ball.
The mistake was not going sooner on the previous play where the cavs had a foul to give. They didnt leave themselves enough time knowing the cavs were going to foul.
I saw the same thing you did.
Or, the Lakers are... they really want HCA and you can tell by the way they're playing. Honestly, I don't think either Boston or Cleveland can beat LA this year, but that's just me...
Anyways, I know the hometown fans will give me a hard time Monday for "losing" this game. What can I say? We're really really bad.
And, every time I see a close finish like this I'm not so sure Kevin is cut out to be a #1 option... but I seriously doubt he woult want to be a #2 option either.
Yep. Dumb, dumb play by Martin. He was relatively open for the three with LeBron out of position (not even squared up!) yet he foolishly tries to get contact/foul. Worse, he ends up with nowhere to go after the pumpfake. Anytime you get some daylight, you rise and throw it up. Hopefully, Kevin takes this as a learning experience and improves because he is the best we've got.Anybody else deeply disturbed by Martin's last attempt in regulation? Martin is useless at the end of games, plain and simple.
You mean like the play against SA in the PO useless? Or the last second full-court drive and off-balance floater to win it in Seattle (?) useless? I'm trying to figure out your definition.....
His definition is the same as mine -- useless. Until he mans up and starts playing basketball, not cheat with the refs help, you'd be better off going through almost anybody else. The refs won't play Kevin's floppy little game at the end of games. Never have. If he's going to persist in playing it that way he will fail again and again and again, just as he has this year. He's actually been useful this season to secure us a handful of extra losses with that garbage. But there will come a time when we want to win again, and when we've reached that point if Kevin has still not grown enough of a pair to actually take the big shot ratehr than look to be bailed out we will not want him anywhere near the ball when it matters.
