Martin also had the luxury of being drafted by a veteran team; there's a big difference between getting to play behind Doug Christie, Bobby Jackson and Cuttino Mobley, and having to play behind Jimmer Fredette and the ghost of Marcus Thornton.

Their aging owner is trying desperately to find a way to ensure keeping his team in Milwaukee. Unfortunately, he has no heirs and if a buyer isn't found who will fight to keep the team in town, they might well end up in Seattle.

The owner is doing what he can to keep the team. He has the money for that but can't build an arena all by himself and is getting the typical push back from citizens. Must be distant relatives of STOP. I'm not sure there are may owners who can own a team AND build an arena.
 
If rumors are to believed, there are even billboards in Milwaukee supporting a team tank to try and get a top draft pick.
 
Off-topic question for the gentlemen: Is our dance team more ... ... err ... um ... wait. Is our dance team perhaps a tad less classy than last year?

Also Kareem and Junior Bridgeman are getting involved. Both are ex-Bucks. That's a start and I don't think there is any time limit on when they need to get money together to build an arena. Seattle cannot take the team away from an unwilling seller.

no matter the iteration, i've always felt that the kings' dance team was "perhaps a tad less classy" than a great many others around the league. my wife and i have a not-so-forum-friendly term for this year's dancers...

Yeah, it's been going downhill for a couple seasons. Hopefully moving towards the new arena, the dance team will have a nice rebuild as well

True. The fear among some fans, however, is if the owner (whose name escapes me at the moment) dies before this is settled, the team may end up being sold...and Seattle would undoubtedly be right there with cash in hand. What they didn't accomplish in Sacramento they just might be able to do in Milwaukee.
 
The only thing I didn't like about that McCallum piece was during the post-game interview at Milwaukee, when that security guard gave Senior the Heisman.
 
I noticed at Sleep Train that McCallum is one of those players who makes the most of pre-game warmups. He doesn't just goof off; he works hard. Kind of reminiscent of Bobby Jackson, both as a player and a coach. ;)

I doubt anyone knows what his will says but Herb has said clearly he doesn't want the team moving. Certainly he can will the team to some party that will carry out his wishes.
