[Game] Kings v. Blazers 11/09/13

Jimmer looking like IT out there. Although, he probably just wants to score once, I kinda feel bad for him. :D

McLemore hasn't missed tonight.

1. Jimmer can defend and he's strong

2. Jimmer spreads the floor

3. Jimmer is a great playmaker

4. He should start and BM should start at the 3.

If M-16 played 30 mins a night right now in this league for anybody he'd average 17 pts at least. Isn't that going to be his jersey # next year?

Don't ruin it. Just sit back and enjoy seeing your guy play and let us gradually warm to the idea. Seriously...

First bolded point: IT isn't as good as those guys.

Second bold: What good does gunning and trying to win a few more games do for us? Let's us get worse odds in the lottery? Makes us worse in the future? I think you are in the minority with wanting to win more games while playing a style that isn't going to get us anywhere. Most people would much rather try and build for the future.

I strongly disagree with your whole premise, though.

I don't think starting IT automatically leads to 'wins in a style that doesn't get us anywhere'. Thats a huge leap, like, massive. I don't even know how you are getting there. He's already playing starter minutes, my thing is just giving him those minutes at a different period of the game so we don't start down 10, then go down 10 again after halftime.

The coach dictates the style, not Isaiah Thomas. I think he has a reputation that the statistics don't necessarily support. He shot 6-10 from the floor tonight and multiple people were complaining about him. After all the garbage we've watched today, Thomas took the heat. He's just not going to please some people, that's fine.

I didn't like him last season because he didn't fit with the starters. This year, for better or worse, I think he fits.

Wasn't that based on some rumor that the Kings were going to retire Peja's #? I still think that is and was totally made up by someone just to see how much play it would get...

Um, I do believe that was an obscene gesture by Lopez directed at Cousins.

How can you strongly disagree with my whole premise when you say - "Most middling teams have an IT in the starting lineup. Monta Ellis, Rudy Gay, Brandon Jennings, etc. Again, you don't win a championship featuring those guys".

You just strongly disagreed with me while disagreeing with yourself.

What the heck happened? We're only down by seven? oh yeah, we have players that can shoot on the floor! So the opponents have to guard the perimeter now. :D

The other problem is that with the exception of Jennings, none of those guys are pg's which mean they usually have to get the ball in order to ball hog it, which gives whoever is running the point the option to pass to others. When IT goes into hero mode, he has all the control. He's extremely efficient and really good at what he does but his style isn't best suited for a major minute starting pg.

The point I was trying to make while mentioning those players is that most teams below elite level tolerate a player with that skill set. The scorer who has suspect shot selection, and doesn't make up the ideal second option because there are only so many elite second options in this league.

I think I may be seeing why we got Luc. This current lineup is playing their hearts out. They look GOOD out there and DMC looks ... fierce? Glad to be with those guys? I'm not sure what, but it's good to see.

GO KINGS!

Agreed. But also, most of those teams have been eager to trade those guys because of their impact on team play.
