Kings / Twolves Idea

Hey guys, first post, so take it easy ;)

Kings Outgoing:
Kevin Martin

Kings Incoming:
Jonny Flynn
Brian Cardinal (expiring)

New Starting Lineup:
Beno or Johnny Flynn
Evans
Cisco
JT
Hawes

Twolves Outgoing:
Jonny Flynn
Brian Cardinal

Twolves Incoming:
Kevin Martin

New Starting Lineup:
Sessions
Martin
Brewer
Love
Jefferson

Why the Kings do it:

Obviously, we are going to see if Martin works out with Evans, but if he doesn't, and if Evans plays better playing off the ball or sharing PG duties, we get a young, talented PG in Flynn and an expiring contract. One of the things that excites me the most about this trade is that I think it would help our team chemistry. Donte is great friends with Flynn, and we would probably have four guys (Donte, JT, Tyreke, and Flynn) that would be get along great on and off the court, and that would be fun to see, and probably produce good dividends on the court as well. We get even younger as well, and have more cap space as well.

Why the Kings don't do it:
They haven't seen how well Martin will mesh with the current team yet, and Martin is popular among the fans.

Why the Twolves do it:
They have a very capable back up PG in Sessions, plus Rubio someday, and they suck at SG. Martin fills a whole for them, while they don't lose much at the PG position. They are really struggling, and could use any help they could get.

Why the Twolves don't do it:
Martin's contract is a lot more money than Flynn's. Flynn is a younger player and probably the best out of all their point guards.

Any trade involving k-mart that doesnt involve a shoe in for a top 5 pick in next years draft or an all-star big is not worth doing K-mart is a great player and needs to be traded like such.......

You guys really have to get used to the idea of Evans as a PG. We really don't need a PG at the moment -- got three of them and the offense is humming. We're 6th in the league in scoring. Tied for 8th in FG% Unfortunately we're also 25th in the league in scoring defense, and 21st in Opp FG%. We need help defensively and up front. Not more little guards.

agreed. we need blocks, less turnovers and higher percentage shots. none of those come from 1's or 2's. we need a presence down low. I have been converted into the "Evans is a PG" camp. Beast PG creating mismatches? Check.

I know you keep trying to pound it into their heads that we need help up front. Yet they still don't listen. Let me try to help.

WE NEED HELP UP FRONT PEOPLE. HELP AT THE 4 AND THE 5. HELP AT THE POWER FORWARD AND CENTER!!!!!
You can't dribble around people and make fancy passes if you don't have the ball.
That means you need rebounds. We need another 7 footer, not a 6 footer.

I hope that helps Brick.

First, welcome to the board. Is there a story behind why you lurked for three years?

As far as your trade idea goes, thanks for putting more out there than just the bare essentials. Unfortunately, I think what kills this deal is it doesn't make us better while it does fill a gap quite nicely for a Western Conference competitor.

Keep thinking, though, and don't wait another three years until you post again.

:)

Nope, I want a big guard paired with Evans. In fact, I want an Evans clone paired with Evans. When you find that, let me know.

Unfortunately he was injured sat. and is out for a couple of months. His name is Evan Turner of Ohio St. I think he would be the perfect compliment to Evans.. My second choice would be Wesley Johnson from Syracuse. He doesn't have quite the handles of Turner nor quite as good a passer, but he's a little better shooter from the outside. Both guys are great rebounders for their positon, and both are very good defenders at the college level. Willie Warren from Oklahoma wouldn't be a bad choice either. He's not quite as tall, but the dude can score the ball.

I haven't had Turner or Johnson on my radar screen up until now. Will be checking both guys out in the future. Hopefully, Turner gets back and playing 100% by the time the season ends. Frankly, Warren just didn't thrill me last year; will be looking at him again.
