If we're going to get PJ Brown, it can't be in exchange for Brad Miller. It has to be done to move Brad over to power forward, where he had his best season.
captain bill said:No way in hell. PJ may be good as a starter with Brad at PF, but that means either SAR Bonzi or Peja is gone, and Brown is probably the least value we could get for those guys. I only like this if it is parter of a larger trade- ie trade 2 or 3 of our guys for PJ + one elite player from somewhere else. No way we can get return on our money for Brown as a starter. Maybe trading Thomas, but tehn we have Skinner and Brown playing the same role, and Skinner for Brown stragiht up won't be done. And- Brown has maybe one season left in him, if that.
That would be ideal. It would give us some much needed toughness off the bench and some interior toughness on top of that. Bringing PJ off the bench might prolong his effectiveness a bit. He has 2 years to run on his current deal and I think he could be brough off the bench and still be an influence player for those 2 years.Bricklayer said:PJs playing like he's got a lot more than 1 season left in him. But not long as a starter I wouldn;t think.
Besides which, my own proposal is to get him to be the third big behind Brar and Reef and come off the bench. Nice solid 3 man rotation up front with Skinner filling in any extra minutes.

KT, Corliss and Skinner for PJ, Mason, and Butler
only problem is, we go from PF stacked to swingman stacked...but the money doesn't match up any other way

DirkAB said:I'd rather see the Kings make a run at Kurt Thomas, since he hasn't fit in with the Suns at all and isn't going to. Kenny Thomas has a very similar salary and would fit the fast tempo game of the Suns much better.
Bricklayer said:That may be true and is actually an interesting idea, and Kurt has always been a guy who might fit well here. But I don't think the Suns could afford to trade away their only playable "big" and go with a 6'7"/6'7" starting frontline of KT and Marion, no matter how good they board for little guys. Would be amusing. At least if you're not a Suns fan.![]()
