Kings @ Spurs Game Thread

Looks like Coach W grades everyone on the Kings a big fat F or at best a few D's. The freaky bat gets an F for flying too close to cagey and quick Manu although if it would have escaped into the Halloween night it might have graded an A for Spurs side since it went right after K-Mart's head just as he scored:eek:

I'm not gonna lie. I expected it to happen. Their is no doubt that the Kings probably have the worst luck in the league.

Come on guys.. we Kings fans gotta have more faith that this. As Gavin said, things are gonna start changing. And I truly believe and agree that things will change.

Ok we loss the first few games just like before, but our team is really better this yr and we really have things to look forward to in the future with the growing young core.

Tyreke's injury is an ankle sprain. Its not that bad. At least he was able to walk off the court by himself. He may be ready on Monday or just miss a few games.

I once lifted one hundred - thirty pound tires after breaking my hand; I thought I sprained it. It swelled up over night and I was in a cast for three months after some early morning x-rays. Sounds just like something that would happen to someone in a Kings uni. Until they return the indian's remains to the earth beneath Arco the Kings will have things like this happen to them every year. It's not something to get overly upset about, just business as usual.

Don't hate on that bat; it was a lot better in transition than we were tonight. Got back on defense quicker than a mother****er, too... Until Ginobili committed that flagrant-2; the bat should have gotten two shots and possession... :D

Like I said in the chat room tonight, we should have tried to sign the bat to a ten-day...

play of a day - Manu catching a bat no doubt about that

Kind of knew this blowout was coming. Back End of a back-to-back road game against a veteran championship caliber team. Forget about it!

Hope Tyreke is ok. I'm going to the home opener, hope he'll be ok to play by then.

The bat was definitely the highlight of the game!

Yeah I figured the blow out was coming. Like you said back to back against a really talented team on the road, not likely to win those. Even good teams have a hard time with that type of game.

Did the bat survive the encounter? I couldn't tell if he knocked it out or ... well, worse.

I have to admit I wondered about the stunt, especially when their mascot came out with a net AND a Batman costume on. You don't think some idiot on the Spurs staff thought this would be funny????

Actually, that would not surprise me.

I've read a bat invades AT&T center once or twice a year.

Hope Tyreke is fine.

I posted last year there was a bat flying around arco. Doesn't surprise me.

No, you're right -- the Batman costume made it too obvious. Given the timing I had originally thought some fan brought it in thinking he/she (most likely he) was a funny guy. But once you saw the mascot ready for it, must have come from somewhere up the Spurs hieracrchy.

Glad at least they didn't end up killing the critter just to have a joke.

wonder how long till spence and caspi finally crack the starting 5, mason and may really need to be moved over to the bench

Think Sam Amick said the Bat didn't make it. :(

I hope that if it turns out to have been a stunt by the Spurs organization, that the league fines them. Letting a wild creature loose in an enclosed arena resulting in it being hurt/killed is pretty cruel.

Of course watching the Spurs dismantle the Kings last night was pretty cruel thing to watch as well...

=)

Yea Amick said the Bat died.

Im thinking it was supposed to be a gimmick thing, that the bat might have be trained but didnt listen .. They obviously didnt tell the players =]

Looks like Tyreke will play against Memphis tomorrow! Not sure how much it will bother him though.I really would rather have him sit out and not have this bothering him for the month or so.

From the sacbee:
"Fingers started pointing not long after the confusion set in, with a defensive Evans getting calmed down by Sean May during a timeout. Evans had just six points and six assists. He was limited to 24 minutes because of foul trouble and a right-ankle sprain in the fourth quarter that he said wouldn't keep him out of Monday's home opener against Memphis."

So the questions are: who was pointing the fingers? and was evans justified in being defensive?
