Kings @ Spurs Game Thread

Kings are easily the hardest team in the league to watch. Since the games over basically I'm going to go ahead and say that once again I'm only taking one positive from this game. Spencer Hawes has the abilty to not suck. Other than that everything else is pretty much what you expect from Kings basketball. I don't understand why we just cant be blown out and go home, OHHH NO! Evans just HAS to be injured to top it all off.

Has the local sacramento station talked about how serious Evans' injury is?

I'm watching on league pass which feeds the spurs station and they didn't say anything about it after.

I warned people not to crow about Evans and ROY when Griffin got injured. Anyone who has been a Kings fan for more than about 10 minutes could see the dark cloud gathering over Tyreke almost immediately...

And yes, it's superstitious blatherings. Any Kings fan who isn't just a bit superstitious after all these years just hasn't been paying attention. :o

Let's just hope he's okay...

Nope. Grant and Jerry talked about hoping it's not serious, etc. but they won't know much until the Kings get home late tonight. Unfortunately, the plane flight isn't going to do his ankle and the swelling any good... Let's just hope he's durable and resilient.

Couldn't see the game, but did listen on KHTK. This was a resurging Spurs team, folks. I expected nothing less from them.

Looking forward to seeing our guys play at home on Monday night.

I was impressed with Coach Westphal and his post-game interview. When asked if he was happy with spencer's numbers, he looked at Grant and said he wasn't really happy about much of anything tonight. He gave props to the Spurs for being such a deep and talented team and pretty much made sure Grant understood he's looking for things other than numbers. It's clear it's not about stat lines with Westphal - he's looking for certain types of performances out of his players and I think he's going to make sure they understand it. I think it did our young team good to come up against the buzz saw known as the San Antonio Spurs at home. Gives them something to aspire to.

And no, tonight wasn't fun and there will be more nights like tonight than last night. But it's just as painful for those young players. There's still a lot to be optimistic about.

I think tonight was a given. 2nd night of a back to back, 3rd in 4 nights. As you said, a Spurs team that is very very good.

I think we win on Monday. I expect the team to come out playing very well.

Evans's injury hurts on several levels; obviously, while I like Sergio, Evans is the guy who we're really banking our future on, and he deserves to be out there all the time....and secondly, my fantasy team says ouch.

I'm not gonna lie. I expected it to happen. Their is no doubt that the Kings probably have the worst luck in the league.
