One more - and then we get to play Clippers again
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
On April 5th 200 Kings won in San Antonio 108 - 98 to improve to 43-31 for the season. King were lead by corliss Williamson who had 28/11. Vlade helped with 20/8/5 and JWill had 18/5/8. Tony Delk came of the bench to score 13pts.

"I expected us to win this game,"
Williams said. "I told the guys before the game that it would be tough without Chris Webber. He makes a lot of things easier for us when he is in the lineup and missing him makes it that much harder. We did a great job of stepping up tonight and put ourselves in a position to win this game."
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings @ 38-37 had their 3 game winning streak snapped. Also a 2 game winning streak on the road is gone too. We are still sitting on 2 games cushion mostly due to the inability of the other 2 teams to win a agame. That is our best bet to make the POs. just letting other 2 teams outsuck us. We have to be very careful not to slip. It will be excitiong.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Playing elite teams is always useful. You always get important infos about where You are and what you are. We might be a PO team. If we are - it will be by default. We are not in the same league as the Mavs. as much as we used to dominate them (Webber) - now they dominate us. Made us look very pathetic tonight. If they had to - they would have scored 150 pts tonight.. What we found out tonight is that - we aren't a good team (we knew that all along but a reality check is good from time to time). We also found ot that we the elite teams play well - there is nothing we can do. We found out that we have zero leadership on the road. We realized that we are heading in another very short post season.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
When there is a game between 2 teams that arew fighting for something - You would expect intensity, lectricity, fight for every ball, every possesion. Tonight - there were 2 teams playing a game that meant something for both of them. One team came out with a right attitude, with energy, intensity, game plan, The other team - Sacramento Kings. We approached it as a preseason game. We lost the game in a plane to Dallas. Not for a second did we look like there is any believe whatsoever that we might have a chance to compeate - let alone win the game. This "Kingdom" is in a desperate need for a King.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
If You think - that tomorrow can't be worse than today - think again please. When You have a mediocre team - only consistant thing is inconsistancy. There are no limits to a "good' or a "bad' side of the spectra. We beat Nets by 40 or so. we lost to mavs by 26 (could have been 40 as well). Nets are currently on a 13 game winning streak BTW. To win 13 in a row - You need talent, confidence, leadeship and a consistance. You also need to know what works on both ends of the floor and to have your priority straight. A superstar couldn't hurt either. Kings have talent. We have confidence but it never leaves the vicinity of the ARCO arena. We have no leadership and no consistance. We don't always know how to get what we need. The roles (priorities) aren't really defined and no we don't have a superstar. Only wasy for us to win 13 straight games it to play Clippers art ARCO 13 straight times.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Busy award night. Tonight - not only there was a TDM award winner - there was also TDM award winner for a supporting scrub performance. Also, several LW-VC awards were given out.
Josh Powell had 12pts(5-6,2-2) to go with 5 rebounds and a block. He doubled his previous career high in points, also posted a career high in FGM, and tied the career high in rebounds. Very clean TDM award winned as it was initially predicted. What was not expected but also not surprising is that Ilunga-Mbenga scored 8 pts (4-4) to go with 2 rebounds and a steal. He posted a career high in points and tied a career high in steals. While he couldn't get past Powell - he sure deserves some kind of recognition especially considering that he only needed 7 minutes for his performance. thus - he gets TDM award for a supporting scrub of the game.
LW-VC award - it would be easy to give it to the Kings and move on but it would be very unfair towards Bonzi Wells who came to play and compeate - ALONE. There were several candidateds and Mike, Ron SAR and KT would pass as LW-VC award winned as a supporting cast. Brad Miller was the "man" for the jovb tonight. He outsucked everyone else on a night where it wasn't easy to do so. He got outscored by Jason Hart. Enough said.-
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Losing to Mavs is not a shock. Losing this big is not a shock either. We played bad enough lately - we had it coming. If we don't improve tomorrow - we will get it again. That is what happenes when one plays a good team that is playing for something. They shot 61.2 %, and when they missed - they got it back. No excuses - whatsoever acceptable. Yes, they are a better team. And - still - You have got to offer some resistance. We did nothing except showing some of their scrubs that they belong in the NBA.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tomorrow - BSPN broadcast. Be ready for the usual garbage scenario. If we don't show up - we might get embarassed again in front of national audience. It is a PO first round prewiev. Spurs are close to clinch the west and they won't let up. We need to play our best - to have a chance. Spurs - the fines Kings-killer collection of all time. Oh boy. At least we can blame Finley.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike - hopefully - will bounce back. Still - limping Bibby vs. Eva's boy - scary.
Bonzi - deserves better teammates.
Ron - maybe - he will matter tonight.
SAR - can't possibly suck like that again
Brad - go sit in the corner:mad:.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin - another road game ...
KT - amasingly bad. good luck with Timmy !
Cisco - still no rythm
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The rest - lucky us:(
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
RA - must be tough looking in that huddle for someone to lead and finding noone.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs - Well coached, in rythm fighting for #1 in the West and NBA. We are just a step for them. Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Finley, NVE, Horry, Barry. Might as well stay in bad. Rasho will win TDM award because he can. LW-Vc award might go to a King again. At least - Clippers are next.

Their whole damn bench loves to play us and their starting PG specializes in dribble penetration. How can we possibly win?

I don't know why but I think we got this one.

You are more the optimist that I. It would be great if you are right and I am wrong, but I will not get my hopes up. It's too late and tonight was too bad. Maybe I'll feel differently tomorrow.

Anyway, at least hornets and jazz continue to lose.

Maybe they will take it for granted that they are going to win and we can suprise them! Maybe we will play up to our abilities. Maybe Mike's leg will be healed in less than 24 hours. Maybe Ron will shake off whatever is bugging him. Maybe Brad will show up to play. MAYBE we will not get embarrassed.

It COULD happen. Anything is possible.

Not being optimistic, but I think it fits in with the inconsistency this team has shown. Get whooped by a Baron Davis-less Warriors at home. Then later on beat the world champs on the road. Just enough to tease us with whats possible, then go back into hibernation again. Sounds like the Kings this season.

I am incredibly pessimistic when it comes to the kings...to be honest i expect nothing out of the team we have.

But...and this is a big one...i have to agree with SacTownKid...it would be consistent with the kings inconsistency that they beat SA in SA....

I think we win...it wont be pretty, and it wont be a decisive win...maybe 2-3 points..but i think we win.

Its classic 2005-2006 kings basketball...inconsistent...spectacular when on....blazers/knickseque when off.

At least we'll se tonight what chance we have against Spurs in playoffs, since it is obvious that we are going to take 8 spot.Deffence is the key of the game.

How do you expect the Kings to win, if they don't have give themselves a chance to win. The effort has to be there, as does their defense. How do you let a team score 63 points in a half and even try to claim to be a better defensive. I'm sure the players are tired, but so are the players from the other 29 teams. Lack of effort = loss, no matter who you play. If the effort is consistent, the W's will be consistent. It's how the good teams win.

We will get killed and the Kings will not care enough. I'm sorry but after seeing last night I don't know what to think. I'm trying to stay hopefully. At least I get to watch it.

It would make too much sense if the Kings blew out the Spurs tonight. They love to be indecipherable. Because of that very reason, I have no clue what to expect. I'm going to miss the game, and I figure I'll be happy either way- if they lose, because I didn't have to sit through it; if they win, because...well, because they won!

i want this win, but we dont need it. i think the jazz and hornets both lost last night so our 8th spot is not in jeapordy yet. with 7 games left i would like to go 5-2.

Let's see... Thing I've noticed the Kings can't do...

1.Stop Penetration (TP will have a field day, as well as any other Spur that drives the lane)
2.Defend the Three (O BOY will the Spurs have a field day with this one. Barry, Bowen, Van Exel, Finley, Ginobli, Horry all can hit that shot easily)
3.Block Shots (Nothing nessecary to explain)
4.REBOUND (This will hurt us badly, expect Nazr to have a HUGE game)

So basically... Every Kings weakness, is the Spurs strength... Lovely...

Nice. Also bodes well for the first round...

I'm actually expecting a better performance tongiht Maybe even a competitive one. Certainly getting squashed again would not at all be a good thing for our confidence down the stretch trying to hold onto #8, let alone if we hit the playoffs and have to run into one of the squashers again.

I actually think it might be close. They're not tired from last night, well they shouldn't be anyway and do they really want to look that bad 2 nights in a row, especially on national tv with the PO's so close. I'm not saying we're going to win but I don't think it will be a blowout and if the Hawks can beat them then so can we.:)

You are forgetting that the Hawks give effort and we dont 90% of the time. Also, I hope the Kings team comes in pissed from last night rather than embarassed so we could use the anger to fuel us. Tim Duncan is not feeling his best either....But with our incredible interior defense he would be able to set a new career high in everything in a wheelchair. I hope Adelman forces them to watch last night's game..maybe they will get that without effort and defense, you're going nowhere but home.

This is just the type of game we win. Unexpected. Just enough to keep us guessing. I hope someone puts Frenchy on his a$$ early on.

GO KINGS!
