Little known or paid attention to stat? Sabonis 2 of 3 from 3.

Take them now in the RS so he is comfortable with it in the playoffs. I wanna see Sabonis take 2 3s per game. They are giving them to him.

Anyways. Kings already won the first 2 of the 6 road games on this trip. 4 and 2 coming home is a huge ****ing win. That's just 2 and 2 on the last 4 games. They set themselves up real good to begin the trip. Let's hope they keep it up. Go Kings!!!

He used to take more, but I think Brown wants him in there to get the offensive rebound so I see him inside a lot more than he would have normally been when he was in IND or in his first half-year here.

Felt like a game from last season. Not many stops to be had.

Fox, Domas, and Monk carried the day.

Fox has reached another level even from last season. His three point volume has gone up significantly and hes shooting it the best of his career. Still can get any shot he wants.

Loved Domas aggressiveness in the fourth and during this win streak. 27 points on 13 shots. 14 rebounds 7 assists. Made his free throws. Attempted 3 threes and several mid range shots. Some lousy calls against him. Could’ve been even better.

Monk is awesome. His playmaking is at another level this season and it doesn’t get much better than when the threes are falling.

Hopefully Keegan, Huerter and Barnes find their offense in Dallas. They’ll need the balance.

Barnes finds a way to do SOMETHING when it matters so I don’t feel like going too deep but the Kings can be getting a lot more from that spot. I’m fine with the 11-12 points if we knew for sure we were going to get the 11-12 points, but I’d like that to be coupled with better rebounding and defense. The staff, organization and players insist he does all that so maybe I’m missing something. This is where he has a ridiculous week of games.

I’m happy about Keegan’s defense, but I’m not feeling these single digit scoring games.

good 9 point second half for Huerter. Poor first half.

Sasha, Javale and Duarte were solid.

Keon couldn’t really get into a flow for the second straight game. Would people say he has a slow release on his shot or is he just being bashful? Seems he has a hard time getting open shots off before the rotation closes out on him. Maybe he needs to adjust to the speed and skill of being a rotation player.

Sucks about Len. I was very impressed with what he was bringing and that spring in his step.

Kings haven’t played a back to back yet. Sunday @Dallas and Monday @New Orleans first of the season.

Hopefully 4-2 or better for this road trip. 3-3 would be ok I guess, but it wouldn’t feel good after a 2-0 start.

I’m so glad i watched the final 8 minutes or so. Fox is absolutely INCREDIBLE and I can’t remember the last time (if ever) that I’ve trusted a Kings player with the ball in his hands like this. Seriously, not even Mike Bibby. This is crazy and so much fun to witness Fox literally get better on a weekly basis.

Bibby could not create like Fox, but he was a very clutch goto shooter as we remember. He could come off screens both directions equally well.

He seems more comfortable taking the three than the elbow jumper. Maybe that’s a shot he looks for more when teams sag off him

No, Fox snatched it and buried the spurs.

At the beginning I was not worried at all. They didn't seem to be sluggish so I figured they would come back. When they look sluggish AND they get in a big deficit early is when I worry, but this game they had some good energy, just had some mistakes at the start.

Yeah, they're not gonna get away with this much inconsistency vs the Mavericks. They need better shooting from Huerter, Barnes, and Murray vs good offense like Mavericks.

Sabonis looks like a completely different player than the first couple weeks to start the season and we’re Blessed as a result. There’s no going back for him in terms of being hesitant and passing the ball around without ever looking for his own shot.
Yup. And I mean, stat lines like this are just filthy. The efficiency is just off the charts.

27 points on THIRTEEN shots with 7 assists and 14 rebounds. Feels like we've just kind of gotten used to this... this is highly, highly unusual. Saw a post here I think that said something like the only other player to average 19 pts, 12 rebs, 7 assts on 60% FG was Wilt Chamberlain. Domas did it last year. 27 pts on 70% shooting this game. Just nuts.

Feels like we're a lot closer to stitching it all together than one might think. When we falter, it's clearly mental, and usually gets fixed quickly, and the gaps are shorter. I think part of it is just settling into the new season, and I also think part of it is guys adjusting to the new bodies they built in the offseason. But we can will ourselves to victory in a way that feels easier than last year.

From here, it's really just a matter of realizing who we are, and playing that.

Kings let a young team hang around but it never seemed like the game was going to be out of reach for them once Fox decided to take matters into his own hands. With that said, Sabonis is passing up so many 5-10 foot wide open shots, it may work now but come April/May, that's not going to fly.
Yep, Domas gotta take those shots. He's tough and gritty under the basket, but that's not gonna be enough in PO's.

2-3 from 3 is big. It’s one game so not exactly statistically significant but if Keegan can play D and Sabonis can shoot the 3…… the Kings become a very different team.

Probably why we, and he, are encouraging him to take those 2 to 3 open 3s a game. And why he is getting more comfortable taking the middy.

I mean, let's be honest. The Warriors did the perfect scout job on him and had the perfect personnel to make him uncomfortable.

I would wager to bet the Kings blow them out next game. And would blow them out in a 4 game series. The Kings are done losing to the punk ass "dubs".

Fox and Sabonis are literally perfect complements for each others game. About as good a duo as you’ll see in the nba
I think once Murray gets used to the effort he expends on defense and is able to also have enough on offense it will be a match made in heaven. I honestly think Murray is losing out on offense because of his effort on defense. Once he has his 2 way legs under him look out!!!

He is not mature enough emotionally to get over the hump when the shots aren’t falling. He slumps his shoulders and is hard on himself for not hitting them. Then comes the hesitation and indecisiveness. The good news is he will overcome that eventually and he is doing more than enough in other areas to contribute to winning basketball.

They did, but I'm still not going to let go of the fact I think he had a set-back with his finger and couldn't feel/shoot the ball correctly. Even his handle was pretty loose and he was getting stripped way more than he usually does. Not to mention a bruised sternum from being curb-stomped and getting a black-eye throughout the series. Funny how he's playing like himself after a few months off to heal and get healthy.

Him and Fox are both taking a major leap and I don't think anyone really expected it. It's getting to the point where teams better hope everyone else sucks if they want a chance to win. Honestly, the most important stat might be 7-8 FTA from Domas and 10-13 FTA from Fox. If we actually start getting whistles other star players get? Oh boy. We also still drop 129, even with HB/Keegs/Huerter combining to shoot 2-14 from 3 and 23 points total. Insanity.

One thing I'm liking about this mid-season tournament is that it seems to have helped to reduce the tendency of this team to randomly come out flat against last place teams early in the year. This is a game we probably lose last season but instead we just got an all-time game from Fox and a whole group of guys kicking it into "hell no we're not losing this game" mode on a Friday night in November.

We look better than most of the floundering, struggling wester conference teams though. Spurs embarrassed the Suns not too long ago and we didn’t allow it.

You knew it would happen though. I had said in prev threads that the stupid announcers and NBA "talking heads" Kept hyping teams like PHX, LAL, and LAC. There were some people here wanting us to make a big splash too in the free agent market to keep pace.. I said that it would be best to stick with what we have and let them grow, because that was the first year of that group, and we were actually better than the Webber and Divac era after their first season. So adding bench players, and try to assist with our problem spots but don't blow up the entire team.

I say we stick with Barnes as starting SF for the whole year, but kind of wind him down a bit. Look for a guy that can start for him next year. I would LOVE a Bruce Bowen type of player, but they are pretty hard to come by.

I'm not lying right now. I think somebody needs to lock him in a gym and tell him to practice shooting 3s while they blast Dancing Queen by Abba.

I am not lying. He needs something serene and uplifting in his mind while he shoots.
