Kings sign Williams for rest of season
After signing two consecutive 10-day contracts with the Kings, 6-foot-10 rookie forward Justin Williams was signed to a contract for the remainder of the season, team president of basketball operations Geoff Petrie announced Thursday.

The team didn't disclose Williams' contract, but he will be paid a pro-rated version of the league-minimum salary of $412,000.

Williams was not drafted coming out of Wyoming but signed a free-agent contract with the Kings during the summer league in Las Vegas. While he left an impression during preseason, Williams was cut before the regular season and went to play with the Dakota Wizards of the NBA Developmental League.
In five games with the Kings, Williams has averaged 2.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game.

Glad to hear it. Now, if the Kings' coaching staff wants a return on their investment I suggest a lot of practice time at the free throw line for the young man.

Up until the last two months of this season FT % has been a major asset of this team. I'd love to see that carry through this transition period.

Awesome news, I love this kid. I was thinking this was going to happen when we waived Taylor. Now hopefully we will actually play him and throw in Pot and Hart into a deal before the deadline to clear the dead weight on the roster.

I think Mike and KMart need to practice their free throws as well. They both have been less then stellar the past few weeks or so. Is it the "new", I mean "old" ball???

Well its already started in another thread. Now we get to hear after every game just like we did with TAG, Skinner and the likes

"WHY WASN'T WILLIAMS IN"

Alright I cannot wait. I vote for about 15 new threads about that exact topic before seasons end. :D

best kings news ive heard all season... lolz....

he'll take time, for like developing such as his ft% and offensive awareness as well as filling up his frame, but mabye he'll finally become that shot blocking presence in the middle...

Bibby's just struggled most of this season for whatever reason. I've wondered about the change back to the old ball as far as Kevin goes, tho. He said he definitely preferred the new ball and was not happy the league switched back.

Glad you'll be sticking around Justin Williams. Just keep working hard. :)
