Kings Sign Ronnie Price

if bibby is being shopped we gonna have problems at the point.... right now theres no one on our team that can take over like bibby.... if bibby is traded its like trading away our chemistry... it will become imbalanced.... who knows what petrie is up to............

It's hard to hear, but we just have to trust that Petrie wouldn't pull the trigger on something unless it was something big...something that would obviously help us.

Dude, easy now, dont get all desperate. Petrie knows each guy more than all of us combined. He wont shop him for just anyone. Just wait and see. Like the motto of many of us here goes...IN PETRIE WE TRUST. :)

Exactly. I ultimately don't see Bibby going anyways.

Noooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not Bibby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :d

Well Mike DID have the audactiy to say it was "his" team. Under a certain view of recent events, such an affront to the Chosen One should mean an automatic exit.

I think Bibby has been on the table for months. Why else would the Kings be fooling around with guards when they need a really good big man? Which NBA team has an extra really good big man, but no first tier point guard?

I still can't avoid thinking that the Maloofs are systematically disemboweling the Kings in prerparation for a move to Las Vegas and the subsequent rebuilding program. Adelman has one year, but Petrie has five. What do each of these men do for a living? The former can hold a severely damaged team together with chewing gum and bailing wire. The later builds basketball teams from scratch.

In my opinion, if it happens, this will be a very ugly and unpopular sports-franchise move. If the Kings go to Vegas after being ruined with lame trades, the move will be on a par with the Rams going to St Louis, the Browns leaving Cleveland, and the Dodgers exiting Brooklyn.

Wow...I thought I was pessimistic! We don't know anything about anything at this point. Any move of this franchise is pure speculation based on no credible evidence...even if they did want to move the team, why would they want to move a BAD team to LV? Any trade involving one of our "core" players will get us something good in return. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Geez...

One little comment from KHTK and the sky is falling again?

First, IMHO, the Kings aren't fooling around with guards. They filled the gap created by the loss of Cuttino and added a backup. Ronnie Price isn't anything but camp fodder right now. To assume he's going to even be on the team come November is extremely premature.

As far as the trading goes, teams have actually been able to ink deals for 12 hours and 52 minutes. I think we can all wait a little longer before we start running for the underground shelters.

Random observation:

I do believe Petrie is picking up spare parts and secondary role players while the picking is good. I like this because we had problems in those areas last year. I don't think it's indicative of anything other than that.

:D

I KNEW Geoff Petrie would not let us down... the sly devil was playing possum, and when nobody was watching... BAM ... he snags Ronnie Price!

Way to go Geoff - where is your bandwagon so I can get on it?

That's very funny. :)

So confident! Speculation goes both ways...in this off-season, I'm assuming that ABSOLUTELY NO ONE is safe from trades. Personally, I hope he doesn't, but I have no confidence that he is immune from being shipped off.

I agree, and hope he can get a few of the players in my sig. (excluding Griffin and Reggie Evans of course).

Lots of panic.......no reason to...........

Mike Bibby isn't going anywhere. We are talking about an All-Star point guard, something rare in the NBA, being moved for the possibility of a decent big man?

Seriously, calm down.

Remind me of the last time Petrie traded away a player in his prime that had All-Star numbers?

Even Richmond was on the downhill of his career when we got Webber.

Don't Panic.

No panic here...I'm just not going to speculate that he WON'T be traded simply because Petrie has never done something like that before. My position is that there is just as much reason to believe that one of our core players could be traded as there is to believe that they won't.

I do not get it why are you bringing Neo into this? This is about Bibby and not the chosen one.

;)

if there was a deal on the table involving Bibby for Hinrich/Chandler you better bet your sweet bottom Petrie would take that offer. Chicago would be giving the Kings everything they need.

Personally I think a Bibby for Brand trade would be good for the Kings.

I would take Bibby for Chandler and Hinrich in a second.

I am not sure if trading Bibby for Brand would be the answer unless you find a very good PG to sign or get via another trade.

A Bibby trade would be good for the Kings! Every posession for the opponents starts with Bibby getting taken like a schoolgirl off the dribble. His defense is the biggest problem the Kings have right now - that and lack of a good big man to pair with Brad. If Shipping Bibby solves both problems then that's fine with me.

Trade Bibby ... THAT SOLVES ALL THE KING'S PROBLEMS ... yeah, right.

Bibby's defense is weak ... we all know that ... so WAS the team's concept of TEAM DEFENSE. What else are you gonna do ... get rid of the rest of the team THAT WAS HERE ???

Bibby's PG skills make him one of the top PG's in the league. I don't trade that for a better defensive PG. There's more to playing PG then defense.

King's coaches/players need a mindset of TEAM DEFENSE ... when Mike is defending.

... comes with having Mike.

you need to be considerate here. I have seen some schoolgirls playing a solid defense trough the years. No need to insult them trough such comparism

Bibby should not be touched unless it is for a deal that involves KG, Duncan or Shaq.

Errr....a bit exaggerated. Look guys, nobody on this team is untouchable. Remember a couple of years ago when people were salivating for Peja. Now hes not worth much because of what we know he can't do. Bibby has more value than he did when we traded him for J-will. If Petrie can get equal or more value (by packaging a 1st rounder or another guy like Thomas) to improove this team, he will do it, regardless of player popularity (see Bobby Jackson who was more popular than Bibby here in town).

Thank you. Thats more like it. Address the team needs for someone on a high right now. Bibby has more value than does Peja. Unfortunately people see Peja as more value in their pocket books which doesn't do us any good. Probably why GP wants to keep him being that this is his contract year and WILL step up. Anyone know offhand what team who is playoff and possible contender has a gaping need at the PG position whos willing to take a Vet?

The problem with that kind of logic is you'll always be looking on the other side of the fence to see if your neighbor's grass is greener.

Bibby is an integral part of our team and I think he should be. We should keep Peja and get rid of Bibby because Bibby is worth more?

So, if you have a couple of cars you get rid of the one that runs the best because people would be willing to pay more for it?

Like I said, if you can get EQUAL (buy younger or more defensive oriented) OR BETTER value for him, why not. Petrie has stated before that nobody on the team is untouchable. And yes, I would get rid of a car that runs best and another mediocre one if that was my business...to get one car that runs even better and enjoy it than both cars combined. If you want to put it that way. It is a business. If you think you can improove then break what you have and tinker with it.
